Justin Bieber is a doppleganger

Canadian singer Justin Bieber was surprised when several British fans asked for his autograph recently. Starpulse reports they mistakenly thought he was an actor from a popular English soap opera.

The Baby singer has topped charts around the world since he was discovered last year. Crowds have come out to meet him wherever he goes.

However, it seems his popularity isn’t all that in some regions of Britain. A group of teen girls approached him and thought he was 17-year old Thomas Law, an actor on the British series EastEnders.

He says, "Some girls asked for my autograph and then said, ‘We love you in EastEnders.’ I’d never heard of the show. So I Googled the actor, and, I guess, there are worse people to be compared with."

Bieber has been worried lately about the attitude of some of his fans who have gotten more and more pushy.

On April 27, a throng of admirers was waiting for the star when he arrived at a New Zealand airport. His mother was knocked down by fans in their rush to get closer to Bieber. He asked his fans to bring it down a notch or he would be forced to cancel autograph sessions.

A Justin Bieber concert was also cancelled in Sydney, Australia when girls in a crowd became hysterical and several fainted.

Justin Bieber shares the mic with Fresh Prince Jr.

Karate Kid 4 hits theatres this Friday, June 4. It got a real marketing boost when a song off the soundtrack appeared online. Never Say Never is performed by none other than Justin Bieber.

The young Canadian sensation has experienced unprecedented success and popularity in 2010 as Biebermania swept the world. Now, Bieber shares the stage with young actor Jaden Smith. He is the son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Jaden Smith also stars in this latest instalment in the Karate Kid franchise. The first film came out in 1984. The fourth film stays true to the original. A martial arts expert takes a young victim of violence  under his wing. That expert just happens to be played by Jackie Chan. Chan teaches Smith how to defend himself and then compete against, who else?, the kid who bullied him.

The new video has Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith singing side by side as various film clips flash by. The two youngsters get along well and fans may even see Bieber do some karate moves.

Hip hop mogul stands up for Justin Bieber

Starpulse reports Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs defended young Canadian star Justin Bieber’s BET Awards nomination. He insisted the colour of Bieber’s skin should not stand in the way of his success.

The singer of the hit song Baby was nominated in the Best New Artist category. The ceremony will take place next month.

This nomination caused quite a controversy when it was announced by Queen Latifah two days ago.

The 16-year old phenom thanked BET organizers for his award on his Twitter page. He wrote: "Thank u to BET for nominating me for Best New Artist @ the BET Awards this year!! This is an incredible honor and I’m very grateful… read some articles about my bet nomination n (and) i think this goes 2 show that music is color blind… Music is the universal language no matter the country we are born in or the color of our skin. Brings us all together. (sic)"

For his part, Combs added: "The awards are important to hip-hop and to show (hip-hop artists) in the right light. But the beauty of BET is, if Justin Bieber’s hot, then he deserves to be on that stage."

Drake is performing at several European summer festivals and is also Jay-Z’s opening act during the rap legend’s shows in Britain.

After his European run, Drake brings his Away From Home tour back to his home and native land for eight shows, including one at the Metropolis in Montreal on July 18. He will appear at the Ottawa Bluesfest on July 16. Then there’s  St. John’s on July 17, Winnipeg on July 22, Saskatoon on July 23, Edmonton on July 24 and Calgary on July 25.

Justin Bieber back on top

Only once in 52 years has a number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart sold fewer copies than this week’s album, Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0. It is back on top after beating out some weak competition.

Bieber sat at number one on the chart for the first three weeks after his album was released. He made an unexpected return to that spot this week because last week’s new releases simply could not compete with him, in spite of slower sales of his album.

The result is that My World 2.0 got back to number one on the Billboard 200 after selling only 60,000 copies. The album now has the distinction of having the second lowest number of album sales in the history of Billboard.

The album with the lowest number of album sales in the history of Billboard was the Dreamgirls soundtrack back in 2007. It sold 300 copies fewer than Bieber’s but was able to grab the number one position that week.

Bieber’s closest competition is Lady Antebellum which sold 54,000 copies. The National’s new album, High Violet, sits in third spot. The Iron Man 2 sountrack and Sea of Cowards by Dead Weather round out the top 5.

Data has been gathered by Nielsen SoundScan since 1991. 5.3 million albums, all styles combined, were sold last week in the U.S., the lowest weekly sales on record.

Justin Bieber rebels

TeenMusic.com reports young Canadian sensation Justin Bieber decided to carry on a family tradition and get a tattoo, even if he is legally too young to get one.

Bieber showed up at the Son of a Gun tattoo parlour in Toronto, Canada with his dad to get a tattoo. Co-owner Brian Byrne told MTV News: "The guy who tattooed him, Charlie, is a lifelong friend of Jeremy’s, Justin’s dad – they’re all from Stratford."

The teen heartthrob was seen with a small bird tattoo on his hip last month as he played on the beach in Australia.

The shop co-owner added: "It’s the outline of the seagull from Jonathan Livingston Seagull."

At 16 years old, Justin Bieber could only get a tattoo with his dad there because in Canada you have to be 18 years old to get a tattoo without parental consent.

The bird tattoo is a tradition in the Bieber family. Several members of the family have the same tattoo on their wrist.

Last week, Bieber took part in the annual Wango Tango festival at KIIS-FM radio in Los Angeles. He performed seven songs before an ecstatic crowd and ended with Baby, the most popular song of the night.

Justin Bieber outshines the stars

The annual Wango Tango festival at KIIS-FM radio station took place over the weekend in Los Angeles, California. Justin Bieber was rolling with some big names in the music biz, including his mentor Usher, Ludacris, Ke$ha, Akon, Adam Lambert and David Guetta.

Behind the scenes, if we are to believe the radio station’s and American Idol star host, Ryan Seacrest, the girls had one question to ask: Where is Justin? Have you seen Justin?

Seacrest described the madness surrounding the young Canadian.  He said: "The vibe is ‘Where is Justin Bieber?’ — that’s the vibe. All the girls that are hanging out here, even the ones that work for us, are like, ‘Have you seen him?’ I’m like, ‘I’m right here.’ They’re like, ‘No, no. Justin Bieber, him.’ "

Bieber finally arrived on stage to the loudest cheers of the evening and performed seven songs, starting with Love Me. He wowed the crowd with his dance steps when he sang Want to Be Startin Somethin by Michael Jackson that turned suddenly into Aerosmith’s Walk This Way. He finished his turn singing Baby which seemed to be the biggest crowd pleaser of the night.

Justin Bieber might do it with Miley Cyrus

Justin Bieber has the attention of practically every teenage girl around. Add a duo with Miley Cyrus to the mix and his popularity would increase even more.

The two were spotted dining together on Monday night (May 10). At first glance, it might appear that the two were enjoying a romantic meal. However, Miley Cyrus is currently taken and raving about her boyfriend, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. And Justin Bieber quickly shot down romance rumours. He stated the dinner was strictly professional and even went so far as to say,  "Noooooo. Not my type. [But] she’s cool. She’s nice."

For her part, Cyrus has said in the past: "Bieber fever … I’m not necessarily a fan. I don’t listen to that kind of music. I like Kurt Cobain. [He] is like my dream boyfriend."

Justin Bieber has conquered the charts with his album My World 2.0. Miley Cyrus just announced she will take a break from music to focus on her movie career. She is releasing a new album, Can’t Be Tamed, on June 22.

Who knows what kind of song the two would sing together. Bieber recently stated he thinks he has more credibility because he did not go the Disney route like other young stars. Miley Cyrus, on the other hand, shot to fame as a Disney star while playing Hannah Montana.
