Justin Bieber’s girlfriend ‘screened’ by his pastor

Justin Bieber’s new girlfriend Paola Paulin reportedly had to be "screened" by his pastor Carl Lentz before he was allowed to strike up a relationship with her.

The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker has asked his close friend – who got him into the Hillsong Church in 2015 – to help keep him stay on the right path while he attempts to rebuild his life following a number of run ins with the law over the past few years and that includes who he dates.

A source told The Sun Online: "Carl has emerged as more than his pastor – he is Justin’s mentor, best friend, father figure and older brother, adviser and spiritual guru in one. Justin does not make a move without consulting him. In the past Justin has been ‘led astray’ or let’s say gone off the rails behavior wise in different relationships. Carl wants to help Justin rebuild his life in a solid way and the woman he is with – his romantic partner – has a big influence on him. Justin beyond values what Carl thinks and does not make any big decisions without checking with him … From now on anyone who wants to be seriously in Justin’s life has to get the stamp of approval from Carl and yes, it’s like an interview. Justin will not seriously date anyone – even casually date someone – who does not go in for Hillsong and Carl. She has to embrace it entirely."

But it looks like swimsuit babe got the seal of approval from Carl as she was spotted attending church with the 23-year-old pop star in California earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Justin is having some downtime with his friends and family after he was forced to cancel several dates on his ‘Purpose World Tour’ in July due to exhaustion.

A source said previously: "It was a really bad scene. He was just not himself. He was profoundly unhappy. Exhausted, low energy. He was just miserable. He needed to step back, recalibrate, and then figure out his next move.

"It has been a process, but he’s doing so much better. You can talk to him and see that the old Justin is coming back. He seems happier, more energetic. It’s encouraging. He’s not completely there, but he’s definitely on his way."

Taylor Swift leads MTV EMA nominations

Taylor Swift leads the nominations for the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) with six.

The 27-year-old singer is up for Best Artist, Best Look, Best Pop, Biggest Fans, Best Video for ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and Best US Act.

And Taylor could make history at the SSE Arena, Wembley, in London on November 12 as the most awards previously won in one night at the ceremony is four, a record jointly held by bother Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.

Shawn Mendes could also challenge the record, as he’s up for five awards – competing against Taylor for Best Artist, Biggest Fans and Best Pop, and also Best Single for ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ and Best Canadian Act – while Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran follow closely behind with four nods each.

This year sees the Best Male and Best Female categories retired and replaced instead with a Best Artist prize, which will see Taylor, Shawn, Ed, and Kendrick compete against Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus for the coveted honour.

Shawn will be fighting for the Best Song award alongside Ed, who got the nod for ‘Shape of You’, Clean Bandit ft. Sean Paul and Anne-Marie with ‘Rockabye’, Dj Khaled ft. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller’s ‘Wild Thoughts’, and Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber with ‘Despacito’.

The Best Local Act is voted for in various regions, in competing for the honour in the UK & Ireland are Ed, Little Mix, Stormzy, Dua Lipa, and wildcard entry Louis Tomlinson, while other notable nominees are Drake and Justin Bieber in Canada, Bruno Mars and wildcard Fifth Harmony in the US, and Kygo in Norway.

This year’s EMAs will be hosted by Rita Ora, who is also in the running for the Best Look award.

Justin Bieber ‘blocked from renting a house in Beverly Hills’

Justin Bieber’s bad boy reputation has prevented him from renting a house in Beverly Hills.

The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker has been offering as much as $100,000 a month for accommodation in the sun-kissed Californian city, but homeowners in the exclusive area have reportedly spurned his offers on account of his previous behaviour.

A source explained: "Justin wants to rent a big estate, but many of the owners of the big Beverly Hills properties, which are for rent, have clubbed together to agree that nobody should rent to Justin.

"You would think that they would want the cache of having him at their homes – and Justin is offering $100,000 a month for places that aren’t anywhere near worth that.

"But he and his entourage have a reputation of trashing his rental homes and then being difficult where it comes to paying for the repairs."

As a result, Justin has instead taken to living in a hotel, leaving some of the guests open-mouthed as he’s been casually walking by them on a daily basis.

The insider told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: "He’s become a resident at a hotel, where the well-heeled guests have been doing double takes seeing him at breakfast on his own with his tattoos and baggy pants."

In 2014, Justin was forced to pay a neighbour $80,000 after he was proven to have thrown eggs from his own home in Calabasas.

A year later, Justin found himself in trouble again after the Beverly Hills home he’d rented was trashed during a party.

The 23-year-old star’s bash was attended by a host of big-name musicians, including Nicki Minaj, French Montana and Chris Brown, but it was the damage caused to the property which ultimately stole the headlines and further damaged Justin’s reputation among local residents.

Justin Bieber: Ed Sheeran owes me after golf club hit

Justin Bieber thinks Ed Sheeran "still owes" him for hitting him in the face with a golf club.

The ‘Sorry’ hitmaker took a beating earlier this year when the flame-haired hunk accidentally smacked him in the mouth with the sports equipment while they were getting drunk at a bar in Japan, and now the 23-year-old pop star wants his friend – who penned ‘Love Yourself’ for him in 2015 – to write him another hit song in return for the fat lip he suffered.

Justin said: "Of course I want him to write for me again in the future. I get that every artist out there wants him to write for them – but we are buddies and he still owes me from hitting me with a golf club! Artists are fighting over Ed – he is a genius when it comes to song writing."

And the ‘What Do You Mean’ singer can see why stars are desperate to work with Ed – because they’re "pretty much guaranteed" a hit if he writes the song for them.

Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: "If Ed writes you a song you pretty much know you have a guaranteed hit. I think probably a lot of people aren’t even aware of some of the songs he has written for the biggest performers in the world over the last few years. He wrote ‘Love Yourself’ for me and bang – it was the biggest song of 2016."

Ed, 26, previously opened up about his drunken game of golf with Justin and admitted he knew he was too intoxicated to hit a ball from his pal’s mouth, but he still accepted the dare.

He said previously: "[It was] just him, no security or anything, he came to this really, really filthy dive bar. We ended up at this golf course and he put a golf ball in his mouth and said, ‘Go on! Hit it out.’ I was pretty hammered and I was like, ‘Focus, focus, focus. You can’t hit him!’ I had this driving wedge and I [teed up] and I cracked him across the face!"

And that wasn’t the first time the pair have enjoyed a wild, alcohol-fuelled night out together, as earlier this year Ed – who is in a relationship with Cherry Seaborn – revealed the pair duetted with one another at a karaoke bar during their travels in Japan’s capital, where they sang one another’s biggest hits before coming together for a rendition of ‘Love Yourself’.

Justin Bieber will reveal all about tour cancellation when he’s ready

Justin Bieber will tell people why he cancelled his tour when he is "ready".

The 23-year-old singer mysteriously called off the remainder of his ‘Purpose’ world tour back in July due to "unforeseen circumstances" and now his manager Scooter Braun has promised Justin will reveal why he made the decision to do so when he feels like it is the right time.

Speaking on CBS This Morning, he said: "Look, I think he’ll decide to tell people when he’s ready of what exactly happened. But I think he was making a decision, like he said, to protect himself. But he’s 23 years old now, and if he makes a decision as a man, as long as he’s willing to listen to opinions and hear people out – if he has true conviction, I’m willing to have his back."

When Justin cancelled his tour, which included a string of shows in North America, Japan, Singapore and The Philippines, he issued a statement where he said he hated to "disappoint" his fans.

It read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months.

"He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."

Justin Bieber apologizes to Marilyn Manson over t-shirt feud

Justin Bieber has apologized to Marilyn Manson over their t-shirt design feud.

The 23-year-old singer reportedly claimed he made the ‘Beautiful People’ rocker "relevant" again after using an image of the star without his consent in his ‘Purpose World Tour’ merchandise in 2016.

Marilyn later fired back, calling the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker "a piece of s**t", but now it seems they’ve put their differences aside as the controversial rocker has revealed Justin has apologized for being "an a**hole".

Justin told Marilyn – real name Brian Warner – over text message: "I thought we had a pretty pleasant interaction. Also, if anything wasn’t squared away with the T-shirts, I’m so sorry. Anyway, regardless, it kind of stung seeing that I came off as an a**hole or even just was an a**hole, I’m sorry?

"Honestly, I totally thought we hit it off. Again, my bad. If I was an a**hole, that wasn’t my intention. Just want you to know that. I don’t really care about the media. I just wanted to make sure you and I were good because I like you."

The ‘Sweet Dreams’ singer, 48, read the text messages out during his appearance on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ on Tuesday (09.19.17), and read out his response in which he too agreed to settle their feud and said the pair were "cool".

Marilyn wrote back: "We are cool. People just made that shirt stuff into a fake feud. Let’s turn it upside down and f**k the press and do something together. It will be the best. And don’t apologise. You weren’t an a**hole. They asked if you were and I sort of agreed. I wasn’t out to get you. If not, I’ll try to avoid more questions today on Stern."

Originally, Marilyn claimed the ‘Love Yourself’ singer had made a "bad mistake" in confronting him about the t-shirt design, and branded him as "arrogant".

He said: "He was [already] wearing the shirt that had his name on my shirt, and he said to me, ‘I made you relevant again.’ Bad mistake to say to me. He was a real piece of sh*t in the way he had the arrogance to say that. He was a real touchy-feely guy, too, like, ‘yo yo bro!’ and touches you when he’s talking. I’m like, ‘you need to stand down, you’re d**k height on me, ok?’ Alright? So stand down son.’

"The next day I told him I’d be at his soundcheck at Staples Center to do ‘Beautiful People’."

Selena Gomez tears up during Hurricane Harvey telethon

Selena Gomez teared up as she spoke about the impact of Hurricane Harvey in her home state of Texas.

The 25-year-old singer joined the likes of George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Justin Bieber in supporting the ‘Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey’ telethon and Selena became especially emotional as she spoke about the Saldivar family, who lost four children and two great-grandparents in the disaster.

She said: "Their story affected all who heard it and no matter who we are, the differences we have, suddenly did not seem to matter.

"Since that day, we have joined together. Neighbor helping neighbor, without stopping to think about race, religion and anything else."

Selena also underlined the need for communities to pull together during such difficult moments.

The star explained: "If we are going to get through all the storms that confront us, that’s how we’re going to do it together, hand in hand."

The star-studded telethon raised more than $15 million for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma relief, and Matthew McConaughey was among the big-name actors who lent his support to the effort.

The award-winning star urged TV viewers to give anything they could afford to help the victims of the disaster.

He said: "We can’t give back what they lost, but we can help them know where to take the next step.

"We cannot get tired doing good work … I say to those people in need, do not give up hope!"

Meanwhile, music legend Stevie Wonder opened the telethon with a cover of Bill Withers’ ‘Lean on Me’.

And after his performance, Stevie said: "We’ve come together today to love on the people that have been devastated by the hurricanes.

"When love goes into action, it preferences no color of skin, no ethnicity, no religious beliefs, no sexual preferences, and no political persuasions. It just loves."

Star-studded US telethon raises $15m for hurricane relief

A star-studded telethon has raised more than $15 million for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma relief.

George Clooney, Justin Bieber, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Lupita Nyong’o, and Oprah Winfrey were among the big names who appeared in the one-hour ‘Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief’ event, which was broadcast on the major US TV networks from New York, Los Angeles, Nashville and San Antonio.

Stevie Wonder opened the telethon with a performance of his hit ‘Lean on Me’ and several stars told emotional stories about those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, which have destroyed parts of the US and Caribbean.

George and Julie recalled one true tale about a guy who kept up his sons’ spirits by playing the piano while the storm was hitting.

Beyonce – who was born in Houston, one of the areas hit hard by Harvey – pleaded with people to stick together in the wake of the horrific events.

In a video message, she said: "During a time where it’s impossible to watch the news without seeing violence or racism in this country, just when you think it couldn’t possibly get worse, natural disasters take precious life, do massive damage and forever change lives, leaving behind contaminated water, flooded hospitals, schools and nursing homes.

"Natural disasters don’t discriminate. They don’t see if you’re an immigrant, black or white, Hispanic or Asian, Jewish or Muslim, wealthy or poor. It doesn’t matter if you’re from Third Ward or River Oaks, we’re all in this together. Seeing everyone of different racial, social and religious backgrounds put their own lives at risk to help each other survive, restored my faith in humanity."

A number of big names worked on the phone banks at the event – the brainchild of rapper Bun B and Justin’s manager Scooter Braun – and many took to social media to talk about the telethon.

Nicki Minaj tweeted a group shot of many celebs involved, adding the caption: "Just got the word, over 15 MILLION was raised tonight. You guys are AMAZING!!!! Had such a good time speaking to all of you. #HandinHand (sic)"

Lupita tweeted a picture of herself and Bruce Willis, and wrote: "We’ve made $14 million thus far! Bruce Willis and I say thank you! @handinhandfund #handinhand (sic)"

She also posted a selfie alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig, who was also working the phones.

She tweeted: "Call me!…or call Daniel Craig! 1-800-258-6000 #handinhand (sic)"

P.Diddy wrote: "Truly honored to be at #HandInHand supporting those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. Call 1-800-258-6000 or text GIVE to 80777 NOW!!! (sic)"

Janet Jackson planning ‘something special’ for hurricane victims

Janet Jackson has promised she is planning "something special" for the victims affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The 51-year-old singer took to Twitter on Wednesday (09.06.17) night to confirm she would be going ahead with her planned show in Houston, Texas, later this week despite the devastation caused by the natural disaster, and said she had something up her sleeve to surprise those who have been caught up in the destruction.

In a video posted on her Twitter account, the ‘Rhythm Nation’ hitmaker said: "Hey you guys! I’m backstage in Louisiana, and I’m at rehearsal, about to kick off my tour, and our next show is in Houston. Now, I know there were rumours on whether we were going to do the show in Houston or whether we weren’t going to do the show in Houston, and I’m here to tell you that we are going to do the show in Houston.

"But we’re going to roll in early because we want to visit some of the shelters. And not just visit some of the shelters, we also wanted to do something special for the victims. So, I will see you Friday!"

Janet – who has eight-month-old son Eissa Al Mana with her estranged husband Wissam Al Mana – isn’t the only celebrity to have shown their charitable side after the vicious storm ravaged the city, as stars such as Beyoncé, Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Swift, Pink, Justin Bieber, Kevin Hart, and the Kardashian family have also stepped forward to give their time and money to various relief efforts.

Celebrities aren’t just helping with monetary donations either, as singer Rita Ora spent time volunteering in a centre in Dallas, Texas, last week, and Miranda Lambert’s foundation MuttNation has been working to rescue lost pets who have been left stranded by the disaster.

A fan of Selena Gomez tried to deliver phallic flower bouquet

A fan of Selena Gomez has reportedly tried to give her a bouquet of flowers in the shape of a penis.

The 25-year-old singer was at her San Fernando Valley home on Friday (09.01.17) when the unnamed man reportedly arrived on her property "loaded down with random gifts, flowers and even food items", according to TMZ.com.

According to the publication, the ‘Fetish’ singer’s security team intercepted the mysterious stranger and told him to leave the premises before phoning the police to report the incident.

But, when they filed the report, law enforcement officials reportedly found that a man matching the description of Selena’s intruder had attempted to place an order at a florists earlier in the day for a bouquet arranged in the shape of a penis to be delivered to the ‘Bad Liar’ hitmaker.

A source claims that the phallic order was blocked by an employee and reported to the Los Angeles Police Department after they realised something was amiss.

Selena hasn’t had the best luck lately, as she was forced to take her Instagram profile offline over the weekend after someone managed to break through her security and post a photograph of her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber standing in the nude on her page.

The raunchy shots were taken two years ago while the 23-year-old hunk was on holiday with blogger Jayde Pierce in Bora Bora and were posted online at the time without his consent.

The star – who is the most followed person on the photo-sharing site – hasn’t commented on the hack, but is no doubt embarrassed by the choice of photo as she’s now in a happy relationship with The Weeknd.

She said recently: "I don’t depend on one area of my life to make me happy. It’s really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy. I’ve wanted to be in a strong head space for years, and I really wasn’t. Before, I was so young and easily influenced, and I’d feel insecure. You want someone to add to your life, not to complete you, if that makes sense. I’m lucky because he’s more of a best friend than anything else."
