Kanye West Not a Britney Spears Collaborator

Britney Spears, who is currently at the recording studio doing her sixth disc, will not be relying on the expertise of hip-hop singer and producer Kanye West.

West slammed the rumours through his blog where he wrote, "I HAVE NOT SIGNED UP 2 DO BRITNEY SPEARS MUSIC."

According to the latest buzz, Spears reportedly has collaborations lined up with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell Williams for her next album.

West, a reputable producer in the hip-hop world, has collaborated with artists such as, Jay-Z, DMX, Ludacris, Monica, Alicia Keys, and Janet Jackson.  In addition to his work with other artists, West has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide of his first three albums.

T-Pain’s New Disc

The next album from hip-hop star T-Pain is titled Thr33Ringz.  The third studio disc is full of collaborations with other artists, including Ludacris, Kanye West, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled and Lil Wayne.

The album’s first single, Can’t Believe It, features Lil Wayne and has already been enjoying plenty of radio air time.

Chris Brown worked with T-Pain on the dance song Freeze, while Ludacris shared the mic on the song Chopped & Screwed.  DJ Khaled is on the song Karaoke, and Kanye West recorded the track Therapy with T-Pain.

T-Pain’s last disc, Epiphany, was released in 2007.  The star is no stranger to collaborations, as he is featured on Lil Wayne’s Got Money, DJ Khaled’s Out Here Grindin, Rick Ross’ The Boss and Mike Jones’ Cuddy Buddy.

Kanye West Needs Therapy

According to a report by Rolling Stone, the hip-hop star’s management team is hoping to get him into an anger management programme.

A representative for the singer hopes that therapy can help West to restore his mental health, and aid him in his relationships with his friends. 

West has been known to be outspoken and verbally abusive, and also frequently uses his blog to vent frustrations.

The management team is also hoping to attract endorsement deals for West, as advertisers previously expressed that the star was too difficult to work with.

Kanye West Teams with Louis Vuitton

The rapper, in company of Pharrell Williams, had a front row seat at the spring 2009 Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris.  West took the opportunity to confirm that he would be working with the fashion house to design a men’s shoe collection, reports FemaleFirst.
 
West said, "I’m here for Louis. I grew up with the Louis look, you know. I just love the style."
 
The singer will also be launching a new clothing line for women, which is expected to be introduced before the end of the year.

Kanye West Denies Romance Rumours

According to a close friend of model Selita Ebanks, the young woman is not dating rapper Kanye West, reports FemaleFirst.
 
Rumours of a romance began circulating when the Victoria’s Secret model and the singer were spotted together at Tenjune in New York last Saturday (May 31). 
 
However, Ebanks’ friend insists that the relationship is purely platonic.  The source said, "They are just friends. They were with a large group that included Serena Williams and Selita’s dad."
 
Kanye West broke up with his girlfriend, Alexis Phifer, last April.  Ebanks was previously engaged to Nick Cannon.

Kanye West Slapped with a Lawsuit

Singer Kanye West and his record company are being sued by Kathleen Firrantello, the American jazz musician Joe Farrell’s daughter, who is accusing West of using part of her father’s music without permission, reports FemaleFirst.

Rappers Method Man, Redman and Common and their record companies are also named in the lawsuit filed at the US District Court in New York.

Firrantello accuses the rappers of having used part of Joe Farrell’s 1974 composition, Upon This Rock. West allegedly sampled Farrell’s work in the song Gone, Common in Chi-City, and Method Man and Redman in Cover.

The record companies being sued are Roc-A-Fella Records, Interscope Records, Geffen Records and A&M Records.

Farrell’s daughter is asking for $1 million US in compensation, and wants the artists to stop performing and selling the songs.

P. Diddy Gets Inspired by Kanye West

According to a FemaleFirst report, Sean "Diddy" Combs revealed that Kanye West changed his life, insisting that the rapper’s recent tour served as a major source of inspiration.

P. Diddy, the Bad Boy Records manager, aired a video on YouTube attributing his newly-inspired love for hip-hop to Kanye West’s astounding performance in the Glow in the Dark tour.

Diddy stated, "The other night, I go to the Kanye West concert, (I had) nothing by high expectations. (West’s) concert changed my life. I ain’t gonna lie. I was so impressed and inspired. It was beautiful man – and I fell in love with hip-hop again. I want to say thank you, Kanye, for giving me that."

West is currently on tour in the United States with N.E.R.D, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna.

Early Release of Hard Candy

Following the trend of many musical artists, Madonna has decided release her new album, Hard Candy, today (April 25) on MySpace.

The official release date of the pop queen’s eleventh studio album was set for Tuesday, April 29.

Her latest masterpiece includes twelve tracks, which were done in collaboration with producer Timbaland and with the participation of Justin Timberlake.

The singer, who is turning 50 in August, is also featuring rapper Kanye West in the song Beat Goes On.

Kanye West is Now Single

People reported that the 30-year-old star is now single. The news was announced by Phifer’s rep.

Phifer stated, "It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends.  I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met."

There have been rumours that the couple was headed for a breakup since last Thursday (April 17) when the designer was spotted not wearing her engagement ring.

The couple had been spending less time together since the singer was getting ready for his Glow in the Dark tour.

One of the friend’s singers stated, "They’d been having problems. Kanye is really focused on his show; he’s putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time."

Radiohead Featured at Lollapalooza

After several weeks of anticipation, Rollingstone.com finally announced the official complete list of artists participating in the summer festival Lollapalooza.

As expected, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Kanye West, and Wilco are among the lineup of artists.

Many other musicians will be joining them such as The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley, Lupe Fiasco, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Cat Power, and more than one hundred others.

The festival will follow the same set up it has had since 2005.  It will be a three-day festival at Grant Park in Chicago starting August 1 through August 3.
