Kanye West Ready to Wed

According to FemaleFirst, the rapper, whose mother died last week following plastic surgery, realizes how precious life is and would like to marry his fiancée, Alexis Phifer.

West, who got engaged to Phifer last May revealed, "I’m just going to go and get married – I’m not going to make a big deal out of it."

The artist also recognized the support that Phifer has given him since the death of his mother. He is convinced he has found the right person.

West explained, "I wouldn’t get married to prove anything to anyone – it’s for me, for stability in my life, and I’m so happy that I found someone that I really love, that challenges me, that keeps my life interesting, that’s just as crazy as I am."

New Album By John Legend

According to Billboard.com, John Legend would like to work with Pharrell Williams and Kanye West on his third album. He has already collaborated with Will.i.am and Rick Knowles for this upcoming album. The artist’s last album was Once Again.

The artist stated that he has three tracks already composed for this album. Recording will likely be finished in the spring and the album will probably be launched in the fall.

Although Legend did not specify the sound for this album, he did state that the songs composed so far are different than his previous singles.

Kanye West Gets Emotional in Concert

One week after the death of his mother, West got back on stage for a concert in Paris. According to People magazine, the singer broke down in front of his fans. Toward the end of the show, West sang the song, Hey Mama, and introduced it by expressing, "this song is for my mother…." West was not able to say anymore.

A spectator explained, "He just cracked. He was at the end of his concert and had just started to dedicate the song and then he just lost it completely." 

A journalist from the Parisian stated that after uttering the word "mother", the rapper fell apart. His band members came close to comfort him, but he could not stop crying. He stayed under the lights while the band continued playing.

After a moment and with a lot of support from the crowd, the group started the song again, but West walked off the stage. He came back 15 minutes later to finish the show with the single Stronger.

Kanye West Cancels Appearance

Following the death of his mother, West has decided to cancel his appearance, according to People magazine.

The fashion show will feature a performance from the Spice Girls, and will take place at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, and will be televised on CBS on December 4.

A representative for West did not comment on the story.

Unique Lunchboxes Created By Musicians

Pitchfork reported that a long list of actors created a new lunchbox for charity. The musicians include: Kanye West, David Bowie, Cat Power, Interpol, les Beastie Boys, Bright Eyes, Chris Martin (from Coldplay), Yoko Ono, Michael Stipe, Rufus Wainwright, Lily Allen, TV on the Radio, Courtney Love, Patti Smith and the Scissor Sisters.

The auction will be online, and the goal is to reduce hunger in New York and South Africa.

The auction will be on the website http://thelunchboxauction.org/ on December 6. Proceeds will go to The Food Bank for New York City and The Lunchbox Fund.

Cause of Death for Kanye West’s Mother

According to People magazine, Donda West, mother and manager of rapper Kanye West, died "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure," according to the coroner of Los Angeles.

West, 58, was taken to Centinela Freeman Medical Center last Saturday. The medical personnel did everything they could to keep her alive, but the hospital spokesperson explained that she died shortly after she was admitted.

The coroner’s spokesperson declared that West died because of complications with her surgery. An autopsy will be done today. Earlier this week, Dona West’s rep stated that it was cosmetic surgery that had the subsequent complications.

Tragic Loss for Kanye West

Donda West was the former manager for her rapper son and passed away on Saturday, November 10, in Los Angeles.

According to People magazine, the family’s spokesperson is not giving any information about the sad events. The cause of death is still unknown.

Donda West, 58, was her son’s biggest fan, and supported him unconditionally.  She raised her son alone, after separating from her husband, a former Black panther when her son was only three years old.

"She always gave me support. A lot of parents don’t train their kids to think."

50 Cent Cancels European Tour

50 Cent promised that if Kanye West’s album, Graduation, surpassed his album, Curtis, he would put an end to his solo career.

He is keeping his promise by already cancelling many scheduled concert dates.  FemaleFirst reported that they also cancelled the concert that was to be performed tomorrow evening at the Vodafone Live Music Awards and at the MOBO Awards. All of this happened after West beat 50 Cent on the charts on Sunday, five days after the release of both artists’ albums. 

50 Cent’s spokesperson explained, "50 Cent is very sad to confirm that due to a last-minute, unforeseen and unanticipated change in his schedule, he will have to postpone his European promotional trip scheduled to take place from September 18 to 25."

The sudden cancellation at MOBO has forced organizers to find another artist at the very last minute to replace him.  If they cannot find someone, Braig David and Kano will be on stage at O2 Arena in London.

MTV Responds to Kanye West

People magazine reported that MTV responded positively to the comments made by West who complained about the treatment he received at the Video Music Awards. 

MTV announced, "MTV has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship." 

MTV probably has a long way to go to rebuild this friendship, after West spoke harshly about the network on a radio statio in New York, as well as backstage after the awards.  His comments made backstage can be heard on YouTube.

Despite all of the accusations made by West, MTV continues to compliment the rapper, "Kanye West is a visionary performer and he didn’t let his fans down at this year’s VMA’s."

Kanye West Speaks Out About MTV

People magazine reported that Kanye West complained about MTV after leaving the video music award show empty-handed. He claims that the network made a mistake and that they equally exploited Spears.

West made these statements on a New York radio station. "They exploited Britney in helping to end her career," West told deejay JJ at New York radio station Z100 on Monday. "When Britney was opening [the VMA telecast], near the end, I felt so bad for her."

West did not just complain about the treatment Spears received, but also insists that they made an error and betrayed him.  He promised never to work with MTV again, and stated he will cancel his appearances on TRL which were to promote his new album, Graduation.

West explained that the awards were not given properly.  They should have been given on the main stage, rather than in a small private room.
