Live Earth Concert USA

The show will take place at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, and will include performances by Kanye West, Fall Out Boy, AFI, Akon, Kelly Clarkson, Ludacris, Rihanna, the Smashing Pumpkins, The Police, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Roger Waters, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, John Mayer, KT Tunstall and Melissa Etheridge.

Other shows will be held in Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo.  Details for those concerts will be announced in the next few days.

The Live Earth concerts are the initiative of former American Vice President Al Gore.  Gore recently earned an Oscar for his documentary An Inconvenient Truth regarding global warming.

Kanye West and Chris Martin Collaborate

The new release from West, which will be launched before the end of the year.  The single Homecoming was the end result of their teamwork.

In addition to Martin, West told Billboard that he also asked Jon Brion to work with him on the new disc.

"We’ll be working together again on the new project," West promises. "Jon wasn’t just a producer — he was such a good friend and a great person to bounce ideas off of in the studio. It was the whole experience."

Kanye West’s Story To Be Told in Film

The American rapper has teamed with New Line Studios to produce a movie about his life.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, the artist will also be in the cast of the project.  The film will be directed by a team of nearly a dozen directors.

The film’s soundtrack will be comprised of West’s old and new hits.  As of press time, no title has been given to the project.

Two Men Injured at Kanye West Concert

According to the police, this incident happened when some people tried to enter the arena where the concert was taking place without tickets.

One of the ushers is in critical condition, although doctors say he will live.  The second usher has been discharged from the hospital.

A man and woman have been arrested for the shootings.

Kanye West Singing in Mission: Impossible: III

Time magazine named Kanye West as the most brilliant pop music star last October.  He has 8 nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards.  With this latest endeavour, West will be following in the footsteps of artists such as U2, that did Mission: Impossible in 1996, and Limp Bizkit in 2000.

Tom Cruise stated, "As a fan of Kanye’s work, I was thrilled at the prospect of him contributing his talents to ‘M:i:III.’ We wanted to take this installment of ‘Mission’ to the next level and Kanye’s music definitely added to accomplishing that goal. As we’ve done with the film, what he’s done with the ‘Mission’ theme is going to blow people away."

Director J.J. Abrams expressed, "My goal is to take the ‘Mission’ franchise and re-interpret it to make a movie that is familiar, but absolutely brand new. Kanye has done just that with his version of the classic Lalo Schifrin theme, and we’re thrilled to be working with him."

Mission: Impossible: III  is starringTom Cruise, directed by J.J. Abrams. The rest of the cast includes: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Billy Crudup, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Keri Russell, Maggie Q, et Laurence Fishburne.

This action packed movie was filmed in Shanghai, Rome, Berlin and the United States.  It will be in theatres on May 5.

The Grammy Awards Take Shape

The three artists are also dominating the nominations list, each competing in eight categories.  The awards ceremony will take place on February 8, 2006.

Carey and West are both nominated in the Record of the Year category, and Carey will compete with Legend, among others, for the Best R&B Song.

Other artists who will be performing at the show will be announced soon.

Coldplay, Kanye West at Brit Awards

England’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards will take place on February 15.  Other artists that will perform include James Blunt, KT Tunstall and Kelly Clarkson.

Nominations for each category will be announced later today, live from Earls Court in London.

Stars at the NFL Opening

This opening day is September 8, and will also feature the Rolling Stones recordings done during their world tour.

Many concerts have been planned for the kickoff of the new football season. Kanye West and Maroon5 are playing in Los Angeles. 

Green Day and Santana are the artists playing in Foxboro.  The game will show the winners of the former Super Bowl, the New England Patriots against the Oakland Raiders.
