Leaked Pixel 6 marketing materials point to five years of security updates

Leaked marketing websites suggest the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will offer five years of updates.

Carphone Warehouse posted a pair of marketing sites, which have since been taken down. However, leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) grabbed screen captures of both sites and published them to Twitter. There’s a ton of information packed into the marketing websites that confirms several past leaks, but the software detail is perhaps the most exciting.

A small blurb on the website says “Backed by the new Titan M2 security chip, five years of updates and Security hub, your privacy and protection is built into Pixel.”

That blurb also connects to a footnote at the bottom that says: “Android security updates for at least five years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US.”

Unfortunately, the site doesn’t indicate how many years of Android upgrades the Pixel 6 series will get. Previous Pixel phones came with a promise of three years of Android upgrades and security updates — it’s possible, although unlikely, that Google will offer five years of Android upgrades too.

Even better is the “at least” part, which suggests the Pixel 6 series could get more than five years of security updates. You probably shouldn’t expect more, but hey, it’s a possibility.

As with any leak, it’s best not to get too excited. We won’t know for sure if the Pixel 6 series will have longer software support until Google announces it. While it’d be nice, things can always change.

Kim Kardashian West won’t cook green vegetables

Kim Kardashian West won’t cook greens for her husband Kanye West because they take too long to make.

The US rapper loves to indulge in a plate of vegetables but doesn’t get his way if his wife is in the kitchen because she refuses to spend three hours of her precious time rustling up the foodstuff for her significant other.

He said: "When my wife cooks for me I will always ask for greens and she never wants to cook the greens because they take three hours to cook."

While the ‘Bound 2’ hitmaker, 39, hasn’t been able to convince Kim, 35, to cook him up some vegetables with his evening meal, he is hopeful of persuading America to vote him in as US president one day, despite openly admitting he "doesn’t have views on politics".

When asked why he wants to run for president, he said: "We are numb, we’re numb to 500 kids getting killed in Chicago a year, we’re numb to the fact that it was seven police shootings in the beginning of July…

"We’re numb to places on the earth that we don’t live – like our life is OK but it’s OK for other people’s lives to not be OK.

"When I talk about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views, I don’t have views on politics, I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth.

"If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive I’m going to try to do it."

As well as planning to one day run the country, Kanye – who has daughter North, three, and seven-month-old son Saint with Kim – has dreams of becoming a designer for Swedish furniture company IKEA.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, he added: "I have to work with IKEA – make furniture for interior design, for architecture and I know that if I do a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm where the TV goes on the side of the wall…

"Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes – I want more products from Ye."

Judi Dench ””unprepared”” for new romance

Judi Dench wasn’t ”prepared” to find a new boyfriend.

The ‘Skyfall’ actress – who lost her husband, Michael Williams, to lung cancer in 2001 – is currently dating David Mills and revealed that ”never even for a second … not for a single second” did she think she would have another relationship after Michael.

She said: ”I wasn’t even prepared to be ready for it … It was very gradual and grown up. We got together, in a way, through the animals. It’s just wonderful.”

The 79-year-old actress also revealed that the couple do not live together, partly because of their busy schedules.

She explained: ”We are much too independent. And he is very busy. He has a business to run.

”But he is so lovely, with a great sense of humour. Now it’s absolutely wonderful because there’s somebody who makes me laugh. Isn’t it lovely?”

Meanwhile, Judi has joked that David used to ”stalk” her before they started dating.

She recalled declining his offer to open a badger enclosure soon after Michael died.

She shared to the Times magazine: ”Although I was filming, I just wasn’t in good enough shape to do something like that.”

New music releases this week

After months of controversy, Michael, the posthumous first album made up of unreleased material from Michael Jackson’s archives is now available. Some members of his family believe that certain tracks on the album were not sung by the King of Pop, who died in June 2009.

The album contains ten songs including three duets with Akon, 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz.

Today also marks the return of Diddy who, accompanied by two singers, formed the band Dirty Money Diddy and is launching the first effort of the trio, Last Train to Paris. Many artists have collaborated on the album – as has now become fashionable in the world of hip hop. Featured artists include Grace Jones, Swizz Beats, Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne and Drake.

Finalist for the last season of American Idol, Crystal Bowersox, released her first album, Farmer’s Daughter, a title that suits the wholesome down-to-earth mother who went against the grain of the typical Idol contestant.

Other releases include Ciara’s Basic Instinct, R. Kelly and his Love Letter and Ryan Adams & the Cardinals with III/IV.

Infiniti Introduces Forest Air

Beginning in 2011, the Infiniti M will be equipped with the Forest Air climate system, which will control odour and humidity in the cabin.

The Forest Air system uses a Plasmacluster electronic air purifier to filter and eliminate odours.  Not only can the system get rid of smells stuck on interior seats, but it can even remove the smell of the wet dog that was in your car for the past week.

According to Infiniti, the system also fights bacteria, moulds, yeasts and allergens.  In conclusion, the Japanese automaker is now offering their clients the opportunity to take in the fresh air of the forest, even when they’re stuck in a city traffic jam!

Infiniti Goes Green

After taking the first step with the M Hybrid, Infiniti is continuing to develop a range of environmentally-friendly vehicles.

The brand’s parent company, Nissan, has already introduced the Leaf, which is an electric version of the NV200.

For Infiniti, Ghosn teased the crowd by confirming that a stylish and luxurious electric car with seats for 4 is in the works.  Perhaps it will be a production of the gasoline concept, Essence, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009.

Infiniti Confirms the M Hybrid

With a test drive of the Infiniti G37 in 2008, and the Essence concept in 2009, it’s no surprise that a car equipped with a hybrid system is on the way.

It was announced today that the first of its kind, the Infiniti M35 Hybrid, will hit the market in 2011.

Unlike the Altima Hybrid from Toyota, the M35 system is distinct due to its use of lithium-ion batteries that are used by the Nissan Leaf.  The 3.5-litre V6 can be completely relieved of its duties by the electric transmission, or can be used to recharge the batteries.

Infiniti Chases After BMW

With an illusion worthy of David Copperfield’s approval, Infiniti announced its third generation of the M Series during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. At the show, an image flaunting the M-Series model was projected onto a 3D Styrofoam sculpture through the means of a state-of-the-art technology often used by auto designers.

The splendid redesign of the series strongly draws inspiration from Infiniti’s "Essence" concept car, which was presented in Geneva earlier this year.

In the hood of the M37, we will find a 3.7-litre V6 engine, which has already been seen as the driving force behind the G37, and the M56 will feature a 5.6-litre V8, boasting over 400 hp.

Infiniti also incorporates a climate control system with aromatherapy, as well as a detector that warns of vehicles in the blind spot.

The Infiniti M will make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

Judi Dench Tired of Being M

The British actress has had enough of playing James Bond’s boss, however, producer Barbara Broccoli did everything she could  to convince the star to participate in Quantum of Solace.

Broccoli resorted to using persuasion to convince Judi Dench to come back for one more adventure. The producer said, "I don’t want her to leave. She keeps threatening to leave but I will not let her!"

According to Broccoli, no other actress could touch the talent of the Oscar-winner for Shakespeare in Love. "She is our anchor. She is the anchor of the film in terms of the character. She is the only authoritative figure in Bond’s life. She is the real Bond girl – the one that keeps it all going," Broccoli explained.
