Evan Rachel Wood slams Vanity Fair experience

Evan Rachel Wood was left feeling ”like meat” after her first Vanity Fair photoshoot.

The 27-year-old actress posed for the cover of the publication’s Young Hollywood issue alongside stars including Mandy Moore and Amanda Bynes in 2003 when she was just 15 and says the experience left her close to tears after having her identity ”erased” when they ignored her ”begging” to wear pants and flat shoes in favor of heels and a mini dress.

After a fan posted a picture of the starlets together from the shoot, Evan replied: ”I was almost in tears after this shoot. They tried that dress on me, I wasnt comfortable but they told me there was no time cause everyone else took up too much time with their fittings.

”Then I was given a choice on whether I wanted to wear flats or heels. I chose flats and was immediately handed heels and told they looked better.

”Then we were all lined up, stared at and approved. I was 15 and felt for the first time my identity being erased and the pressure to shut up and do what you are told. I felt like meat. Since then, I have found my voice. Never again. #neverforget (sic)”

Evan put her ”bullying” experience down to being ”inexperienced and shy” but has learned from how uncomfortable she felt that day.

She added: ”I think when you are young and inexperienced and shy you can be bullied more. I learned to say no.”

And the ‘Mildred Pierce’ star – who is believed to be dating actress Katherine Moennig and has a 14-month-old son with estranged husband Jamie Bell – hoped sharing her experience would encourage her fans to ”stay true” to themselves, insisting she wasn’t complaining about any of the ”privileges” of her job.

She added: ”To all the haters. I am not complaining about being on the cover of vanity fair.

”I understand I am very privileged and there are far worse thing to go through.

”My point was that things arent always what they seem. Especially in this industry. What may seem glamorous sometimes comes at a price.

”I only want to encourage other young girls to stay true to who they are. No matter what. Hold on to your self.(sic)”

Evan also insisted she bared no hard feelings towards the publication.

She wrote: ”Side note , I have shot the cover of ”vanity fair” since and had a much different experience. It was quite lovely.(sic)”

Jessica Alba: I’m a prude

Jessica Alba insists she is a ”real prude”.

The 33-year-old actress – who has children Honor, six, and two-year-old Haven, with husband Cash Warren – has stripped off for several magazine shoots and film roles in the past, but the brunette beauty doesn’t like to read herself described as ”sexy”.

Speaking in the new issue of Loaded magazine, she said: ”I think a lot of women with children are sexy. It’s weird thinking that because you have children you don’t have ownership or you can’t have sex appeal.

”You don’t stop becoming a woman, that’s for sure. And it does make me laugh when my name appears in those ‘sexiest actress’ polls because that is just not who I am.

”Everyone who knows me well knows that I am a real prude!”

Jessica reprises her role as stripper Nancy Callahan in ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ – the sequel to the 2005 movie – but she doesn’t taking her clothes off for movie scenes and has a nudity clause written into her contract which states she won’t be stripping for her roles.

She added: ”It is make-believe. I am not naïve about the way Hollywood works. I know that sex sells movie tickets. But a good director can make a scene sexy without me taking my top off.”

The latest issue of Loaded magazine – with Pharrell Williams on the cover – is available to buy now.

Usher doesn’t regret getting married

Usher claims getting married is the ”best mistake” he has ever made.

The ‘Good Kisser’ hitmaker, who has two sons, Usher Jr., six, and Naviyd, five, with ex-wife Tameka Foster, insists he has no regrets about tying the knot with her in 2007 even though they divorced two years later.

Asked about his best mistake, the 35-year-old star told the September issue of O magazine: ”Getting married at 28.”

He added: ”Most people probably think I regret it because I ended up getting divorced, but it helped me learn that sometimes I think I know more than I actually do.”

The ‘Voice’ USA mentor secured primary custody of his children in 2012 after a bitter court battle with former celebrity stylist Tameka.

The ‘More’ hitmaker previously said his sons are his ”most prized possession.”

Earlier this year, he said: ”They are my greatest investment, my most prized possession, it’s everything.”

Tameka, 43, previously confessed she ”nagged” Usher a lot during their marriage because she struggled to cope with the pressure of being in a high profile relationship.

Explaining the reasons for their split, she said: ”Pressures from the public, you know. But then I did dumb stuff. I made a lot of mistakes. He always told me, ‘You gotta drink a lot of milk.’ You know, you gotta toughen up because I wasn’t ready for the scrutiny. And then to just hear the things people would say about me, it hurt me a lot. And I think I nagged him as a result of what I was going through.”

Joe Manganiello is ‘like a unicorn’

Joe Manganiello is ”like a unicorn in the world of actors”.

The 37-year-old actor insists that, unlike many other famous faces in Hollywood, he has honed his enviable physique through sheer hard work.

He told Men’s Health magazine: ”A lot of the actors who are on the cover of lifestyle magazines look like they’ve had their waistline airbrushed or they’re wearing winter clothes or whatever.

”I see them and think, ‘That guy doesn’t work out, I know that guy and he smokes two packs of cigarettes a day and is a complete drunk on the weekends. Now he’s putting out an illusion on the cover of a glossy magazine.’ ”

Joe, who plays Alcide in ‘True Blood’, added: ”It’s absurd to me. I’m athletic and I’m healthy. I’m like a unicorn in the world of actors.”

The hunky star – who is rumored to be dating ‘Modern Family’ actress Sofia Vergara – explained that one of his biggest motivations to work out was having to spend much of stripper movie ‘Magic Mike’ without a shirt.

He said: ”When you’re shirtless every day there’s no let up. So we spent a fortnight doing thousands of push-ups, thousands of curls, thousands of lat raises.”

Ellie Goulding worried about her looks

Ellie Goulding used to worry she wasn’t ”aesthetically pleasing enough”.

The ‘Burn’ singer – who shot to fame after winning the Critics Choice Award at the Brits in 2010 – was concerned that her looks might limit her success and tried to conceal her features during photoshoots.

She told ES Magazine: ”At one time, I was getting all this musical success, but I wasn’t getting all the things that went with it, like magazine covers.

”I was convinced for a long time I wasn’t aesthetically pleasing enough. I would have to angle my face to hide the side of my nose, or my chin.

”Then I stopped caring. I let go. Put a different energy out there — then [the covers] all started to happen.”

Ellie, 27, also slammed critics who has called her ”too athletic” after she appeared on UK TV show ‘The X Factor’ last year in a sheer Julien Macdonald dress.

She said: ”They said my body was ‘too athletic’. Too athletic?

”Isn’t it admirable that someone has worked so hard to look good and be healthy?”

The blonde beauty – who has previously dated Radio 1 DJ Greg James and Skrillex and has been romantically linked to Ed Sheeran and One Direction’s Niall Horan – also opened up about her relationship with McBusted’s Dougie Poynter.

She said: ”It feels great to be with someone without needing them.”

New magazine launching for Paris couture week

Titled Paris Haute, the new highbrow title will be launched to accompany the city’s famed haute couture schedule. A fresh new daily, in tabloid format and printed on matte paper, the English/French publication will examine the latest couture trends over eight pages (including two sides of advertising).

"We are targeting the international traveler but also those Parisians who don’t necessarily have a ticket to one of the shows but are nevertheless interested in the savoir-faire and what is going on in the big couture houses," editor in chief Laurence Benam told WWD.

Ten thousand free copies will be distributed each day between July 1 and 5. Produced by Stiletto Editions and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, the paper will feature a cocktail of interviews, news and behind-the-scenes action designed to shed new light on the exclusive haute couture experience.

Don’t fret if you won’t be in the French capital during the shows: the magazine will also be published online via the Mode-à -Paris website.
