Accepting the accolade from Tom Hanks, Michelle Yeoh and Chris Tucker, he said: "My dad always said, ‘Son, you get so many movie awards in the world, when are you going to get one of these?’ Then I just look at my dad. ‘Ha, ha, ha. Dad, I only make comedy action movies.’ "

The 62-year-old actor recalled seeing Sylvester Stallone’s Academy Award statuette when he had a meeting at the ‘Expendables’ star’s home 23 years ago and admitted it made him "really want one".

He recalled: "I touched it, kissed it, smelled it… I believe it still has my fingerprints on it.

"Then I talked to myself, ‘I really want one.’ Finally, (Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs) called and I said, ‘Are you sure?’ "

Jackie went on to thank his fans and vowed to keep making movies, even though he’s been left injured many times because of his work.

He said: "After 56 years in the film industry, making over 200 films, I’ve broken so many bones, finally this is mine. I want to thank you, Hong Kong, such an incredible city, my hometown, my hood, who make me.

"China, my country, I am proud to be Chinese. Thank you, Hollywood, for all of those years teaching me so many things, and also make me a little bit famous. I’m just honored to be here."

Mark Wahlberg’s uncomfortable weight gain

Mark Wahlberg felt "uncomfortable" piling on the pounds for ‘Deepwater Horizon’.

The 45-year-old actor had to gain 20lbs in just a few weeks before filming his latest movie, and though gorging on fatty foods was "fun" at first, stuffing himself gradually became an ordeal.

He said: "It really came down to eating as much as possible in Louisiana where we were filming, I went from 180lbs to 212lbs eating a lot of fried foods and drinking a lot of wine and beer, which was fun for two weeks, then it became uncomfortable. I never thought I would have to sit down to put my socks on."

Mark – who has children Ella, 13, Michael, nine, Brendan, seven, and Grace, six, with wife Rhea Durham – then had to shed the weight for another project and was left acting like a "crazy person" to drop the pounds.

He recalled to ES magazine: "I spent from August until December training like a crazy person for 100 days straight with a strict diet — no drinking, no pasta, no bread."

He then had to bulk up again for ‘Patriots Day’, but despite his extreme weight changes, he insists he always approaches things carefully.

He said: "If you’re going for extreme weight loss, then you do it under the watchful eye of a doctor and nutritionist."

And at the moment, he’s on such a strict diet ahead of filming ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’, Mark spends his evenings just watching his family eat.

He admitted: "My wife is not into cooking so we have someone who cooks for us. They had Chinese yesterday, teriyaki chicken and steak..

"I just sat there smelling [their food] for 45 minutes."

Kate Hudson having lunch struggle with sons

Kate Hudson’s biggest battle is getting her children to eat their packed lunch.

The 37-year-old Hollywood actress has Ryder, 12, with her ex-husband Chris Robinson and five-year-old son Bingham with her former fiancé Matt Bellamy.

Kate admits at the moment neither of her two sons wants to eat the healthy food that she sends them to school with and she is faced with a full lunchbox each afternoon, much to her dismay.

In an interview on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’ to promote her latest film ‘Deepwater Horizon’, Kate was asked if either of her kids had picked up the acting bug from her and she laughingly answered: "They’re very creative but who knows, they’re just being kids now. Right now they just need to eat proper lunches, that’s all I care about now!

"All that’s happening is I come home to a lunchbox that’s uneaten and I’m trying to figure that out. What they do for a living, we’ll get to that later."

Kate plays the role of Felicia Williams opposite her actor stepdad Kurt Russell in the disaster movie, which is based on the real life oil rig disaster that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.

She appears on screen alongside Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O’Brien and John Malkovich in the film and admits having a healthy relationship with her dad has made her wise.

Discussing what she has learned from Kurt, Kate – whose mother is actress Goldie Hawn – explained: "I don’t know if it’s advice as much as it is parenting, as you get older I think it’s just talking about your life isn’t it? Any parent/child healthy relationship is going to impart wisdom."

Gina Rodriguez ’empowered’ by Mark Wahlberg

Gina Rodriguez felt "empowered" by Mark Wahlberg.

The 32-year-old actress has nothing but praise for her ‘Deepwater Horizon’ co-star and admits he just "got" her.

She told Latina magazine: "One thing I find extremely empowering about Mark is that he doesn’t want to do it alone. He wants to help everyone around him, uplift everyone around him. Mark understands that he got to where he was because of all the people that helped him get there, including himself.

"He got me. He got the idea that s**t was hard and I pushed through. It wasn’t just hard as a Latina, it wasn’t just hard as a curvy leading lady, but it was hard as a woman. It was hard as somebody that came from the hood. He gets the struggle, and he could see it in someone else."

Meanwhile, the ‘Jane The Virgin’ star previously admitted her journey to fame "hasn’t been easy".

She said: "I know that this journey hasn’t been easy or quick. It seems to almost get harder because my dreams get bigger and I desire more.

"The idea of staying grounded is so crazy to me because I remember what it was before those dreams came true. I remember all the challenges and obstacles and I see the new challenges and obstacles as I go along. Everything comes to an end. Every chapter has an end. I’m not going to be Jane the Virgin forever. I’m going to do movies that fail; hopefully I’ll do movies that succeed."

Mark Wahlberg’s priority is his family

Mark Wahlberg says being a father is his number one priority.

The ‘Daddy’s Home’ star – who has daughters Ella, 12 and Grace, six, and sons Brendan, seven and Michael, 10, with his wife Rhea Durham – doesn’t chose movie roles which he thinks could affect his family.

When asked if being a spiritual person affected which roles he chose, he told Men’s Fitness magazine: "Absolutely. And also being a dad. And a husband. What I’m willing to do and not do. I never want to compromise my artistic integrity. But at the same time, with [playing a porn star in] ‘Boogie Nights’, I already did that. I’d be hard-pressed to do something in that world today …

"Sometimes you have no control [over a film’s success]. Once you’ve done everything you can to create something, it goes out there and it either works or doesn’t. At the end of the day I just know I did everything I could do to make it the best it would be. Then you gotta be able to move on. Let it go."

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old actor previously revealed he has his boxing obsession to thank for helping him get in shape for his roles in ‘Broken City’ and ‘Pain & Gain’.

When asked how he transforms his body shape so quickly, he said: "A liquid diet, running, jumping rope. Mostly jumping rope. Jumping rope is for me a lot more fun than running the treadmill, or even running out in the open.

"It’s more rhythmic. You can change the speeds. It’s a great part of boxing training. And I’m obsessed with boxing."

And when starring as former professional boxer Micky Ward in 2010’s ‘The Fighter’, Mark suffered a few minor "nicks and bumps and bruises".

He revealed: "I picked up a lot of nicks and bumps and bruises. I almost got my nose broken a couple of times. But nothing that would have stopped production.

"We basically lied to the insurance company and told them we weren’t going to be hitting each other and then went in there and that’s all we did."

Mark Wahlberg asks Pope’s forgiveness

Mark Wahlberg asked Pope Francis to forgive him for his ‘Ted’ movies.

The 44-year-old actor attended the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia on Saturday (26.09.15) and joked he hoped God had a ”sense of humour” about his appearances opposite the foul-mouthed bear in the raunchy comedies.

After a young soloist, 14-year-old Bobby Hill, performed at the event, Mark took to the podium and said: ”That was truly the voice of an angel. But then he whispered in my ear that he loved the movie ‘Ted’. And I told him that was not appropriate for a boy of his age.

”Holy Father please forgive me. I’ve always hoped that the good Lord has a sense of humour when it comes and pertains to many of the movies that I’ve made.”

The World Meeting of Families, which is the world’s largest Catholic gathering of families, also included performances by Aretha Franklin, The Fray, and Andrea Boccelli.

The pope organised his six-day visit to North and Central America, which concluded yesterday (27.09.15), to coincide with the event.

Mark – who has sons Michael, nine, and Brendan, seven, and daughters Ella, 12, and Grace, five, with wife Rhea Durham – has previously spoken of how important his Catholic faith is to him.

He said: ”Being a Catholic is the most important aspect of my life.”

Mark Wahlberg embarrassed by posing past

Mark Wahlberg wishes he had kept his shirt on more when he was younger.

The ‘Fighter’ actor is embarrassed by his musical past as lead rapper in hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and admits he would take back both his outfits and music choices if he could.

He said: "Believe me, if there were things I could take back I would. I can’t take any of it back and it’s moulded who I am today, but I would certainly like to erase some of those things. I should have kept my shirt on a lot more. And not pulled my pants down so much."

When he made the transition to movies, Mark revealed he finally felt as he if he found his true calling but his model wife model Rhea Durham and their four children are still more important to him than his career.

He explained to Men’s Health magazine: "When I did my first film I really felt like I had found my niche. It was difficult because I wanted to do anything in my power to make people forget about my past. I wanted to be credible, respected and taken seriously.

"Well family is the most important thing to me. So when I’m back home I’m in the gym at 4:30am, when it’s still dark out and the kids haven’t woken up yet. Then I get the kids up, get them off to school and get my day started.

"Family, faith and being a good person are the be all and end all. If I succeed at business and I fail at being a good father then it was all for nothing."

The full Mark Wahlberg interview is in the January/February issue of Men’s Health magazine on sale today (05.12.11).

The Fighter will make comeback

At Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards, actor Mark Wahlbwerg confirmed there will indeed be The Fighter 2, reports Coming Soon.

It’s currently unknown exactly which cast members will be returning for the sequel. Both Christian Bale and Melissa Leo won Academy Awards for their supporting roles. David O. Russell may be involved as director or producer.

For the original film, Wahlberg said that the three matches between Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward had been deliberately set aside for a possible sequel.

"We left out the Arturo Gatti fights for a reason," Wahlberg announced, after the film won for ‘Guy Movie of the Year,’ “Because that’s for ‘Fighter 2.’ We’re not going to do ‘Fighter’ 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, but we’re gonna do 2. We’re going to do the Ward/Gatti trilogy."

The two men faced off in three major fights beginning in 2002, and it’s said that they were so violent that both boxers were hospitalized after each fight.

The biographical sports drama was a project that Wahlberg had been involved with since 2005, and was passionate about doing justice to the life story of boxer ‘Irish’ Micky Ward.

In the meantime, Wahlberg will star alongside Kate Beckinsdale in Contraband on March 16, 2012, and is currently shooting the comedy Ted with Mila Kunis, which will be released July 13, 2012.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reteam for football comedy

After pairing up in last year’s cop comedy The Other Guys, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will be co-starring together again – this time as rivals in upcoming sports comedy The Turkey Bowl, reports Deadline.

The film centers around two football-obsessed American towns that compete for bragging rights in an annual, over-the-top tackle football game. Ferrell and Wahlberg will feature as the leaders of the opposing teams.

Major cameos are expected for the match itself – similar to the broadcaster gang fights in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy – and Alec Baldwin has already signed on to play Wahlberg’s dad.

The script is currently being drafted by 30 Rock writer Robert Carlock and Friends writer Scott Silveri. Ferrell and Wahlberg will co-produce along with The Other Guys director Adam McKay.

No release date has been confirmed, although considering the film’s title, it can likely be expected some time around American Thanksgiving in November – "Turkey Bowl" being a common name for informal backyard matches played on the holiday.
