Marvel’s Hawkeye to get special two-episode Disney+ premiere on November 24

Marvel Studios has revealed that the first two episodes of Hawkeye will be available when the series premieres on Disney+.

While we’d known since July that the series will hit Disney+ on November 24th, we had been expecting a single episode per usual Disney+ series rollouts.

Disney didn’t provide a reason for the special two-episode premiere, but it likely has to do with Lucasfilm’s The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorian spin-off is releasing on Disney+ on December 29th, which would have been the date of the Hawkeye finale if the series only debuted with one episode. Therefore, coming out with two episodes right away means that the six-episode-long Hawkeye will conclude on December 22nd, leaving Boba Fett free to have the 29th to itself.

Alongside confirmation of the two-episode premiere, Marvel also dropped a one-minute spot for Hawkeye that’s appropriately titled “Change of Plans.” The spot shows more Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and MCU newcomer Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop) as his companion fighting off unknown enemies during Christmastime. Linda Cardellini’s Laura Barton, Clint’s wife, can also be seen, following her appearance in Avengers: Endgame.

This is the last Marvel Disney+ series for the years, following the apparent delay of Ms. Marvel. However, we will likely learn about more of Marvel’s plans for the streaming service on November 12th. On that date, Disney will hold its inaugural Disney+ Day event to reveal more about what’s coming to its service from all of its brands, including Marvel.

Marvel working on ‘WandaVision’ Disney+ spin-off starring Agatha Harkness: report

Marvel Studios is developing a WandaVision Disney+ spin-off about the popular series’ villain, Agatha Harkness, according to Variety.

The outlet notes that Kathryn Hahn would reprise her role as Agatha in the series, which will be a dark comedy. Further plot details aren’t known, but Jac Schaeffer, the lead writer of WandaVision, is expected to return to write and executive producer the untitled Agatha series.

Variety says Marvel did not respond to comment. However, we may learn more of the series officially at the inaugural Disney+ Day event on November 12th. A variety of Disney brands, including Marvel, are expected to make Disney+ announcements on that date.

In any event, an Agatha series makes sense for Marvel and Disney+.

The character was one of the standouts of WandaVision, who initially appeared to be a friendly neighbour to Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda and Paul Bettany’s Vision before revealing herself to be a villain. Her catchy evil song, “Agatha All Along,” quickly became an internet sensation and Hahn ended up receiving an Emmy nomination for the role. Given that Agatha was left alive in the WandaVision finale, it’s unclear whether the series will pick up after it or serve as a prequel that explores her Salem Witch origins.

What we do know, though, is that the broader story of WandaVision will carry over into next March’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In that film, Olsen’s Wanda’s search for her children will bring her into contact with Benedict Cumberbatch’s titular Sorcerer Supreme.

For now, though, the next Marvel Disney+ series is the Jeremy Renner-led Hawkeye, which will premiere on November 24th.

Play as Marvel villain Carnage in the latest season of Fortnite

Marvel villain, Carnage, is coming to Fortnite

The skin will be available as part of the game’s Battle Pass Chapter 2, Season 8, which launched on September 13th.

To unlock Carnage, players need to complete quests and take down enough players in Battle Royale mode to gain experience. Similar to past special skins, Carnage is unlocked at the end of this Battle Pass.

Carnage’s inclusion comes just weeks before the movie release of the Venom sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. In the upcoming movie, Woody Harrelson plays Cletus Kasady’s symbiote, Carnage.

At this point, Marvel-Fortnite crossovers have grown pretty common. For example, Carnage joins Wolverine, Iron Man, Thor, Thanos and Black Panther.

Insomniac is making a Wolverine game for PlayStation 5

As if Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 wasn’t enough, Insomniac Games is also working on a game based on Marvel’s Wolverine character for PlayStation 5.

The announcement came during PlayStation Showcase 2021, although no further details were revealed. In a brief 45-second CG trailer, Wolverine can be seen being approached by someone in a bar before popping his signature claws.

In the past year, Insomniac has already released Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, so the fact that it’s working on two big upcoming Marvel games is particularly impressive.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Insomniac noted that Brian Horton, the creative director on Miles Morales, is leading development on Marvel’s Wolverine. However, the game is still “very early” on, with Insomniac head of franchise strategy & studio relations Ryan Schneider simply promising an “emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay.”

A release window for Marvel’s Wolverine has not yet been confirmed.

Insomniac reveals Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, coming to PS5 in 2023

Insomniac Games has officially unveiled Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the PS5 sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and last year’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

In a brief trailer, Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ Spider-Men can be seen fighting a few goons, while a Russian narrator talks about hunting them. Given the accent and what he’s saying, it’s safe to say that it’s classic Spider-Man villain Kraven the Hunter.

However, the trailer ends with a tease for Venom, another iconic Spider-Man villain who was set up in the previous games.

Spider-Man 2 is set to release sometime in 2023.

More to come…

Chris Evans and Chris Pratt agree Super Bowl wager

Chris Evans and Chris Pratt have placed a wager on the outcome of the Super Bowl.

The actors – both of whom are Marvel superheroes – have engaged in a light-hearted war of words on Twitter ahead of the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots on February 1, and have agreed to visit a children’s hospital in costume if their team loses.

Evans, a Patriots fan who plays Captain America, said: ”Well, well, well @prattprattpratt, looks like our teams are going into battle. For the next 2 weeks, you are not my friend, you are my enemy (sic)”

Pratt, a Seahawks fan who plays Star-Lord, replied: ”We both know there’s only one Captain America and his name is Russell Wilson.”

Evans responded by asking his fellow actor whether he wished to place a bet on the outcome of the big game.

Pratt responded: ”OK. Seahawks win you fly yourself to Seattle, visit @seattlechildren hospital as Captain America, waving the 12th man flag.”

Evans accepted the challenge, predicting his team would win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

He said: ”I accept. And when the Patriots humiliate your seachickens, I expect Star-Lord to arrive at @chris_haven in a Brady jersey.”

John C. Reilly for Guardians of the Galaxy?

John C. Reilly has been offered a role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.

The ‘Step Brothers’ actor is reportedly being courted for the role of Rhomann Dey in Marvel Studios’ sci-fi superhero blockbuster, according to HitFix.com.

Reilly has been offered a supporting part in the movie about a team of alien superheroes, playing a liaison between the otherworldly crime-fighters and S.H.I.E.L.D., the secret government group seen in previous Marvel movies and led by Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.

Meanwhile, the movie studio has also allegedly shortlisted a string of names to play his partner, including ‘House’ star Hugh Laurie, ‘Harry Potter’ actor Alan Rickman and ‘Inception’ actor Ken Watanabe.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ – which will be directed by James Gunn – will be set entirely in space and star Chris Pratt as the group’s leader, Star-Lord aka Peter Quill; Zoe Saldana as superhuman vixen Gamora; Dave Bautista as burly henchman Drax the Destroyer; and Michael Rooker as Yondu.

Other parts which have yet to be filled include animal crime-fighters Rocket Raccoon and Wal Russ.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ is due for release next year, followed by ‘The Avengers 2’ in 2015, and it’s thought the Guardians will join the cast for the movie alongside Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
