Moto reveals Razr 2022 cover display in a teaser post

Ahead of the foldable smartphone’s official launch, Motorola has revealed more about its 2022 Razr in a new teaser.

Motorola posted this latest teaser on Weibo, showcasing the Razr 2022’s larger cover display. The cover screen seems to be even larger than the one that leaked surrounding the rumoured 4th-gen Flip series.

The picture shows that you can use the display in multiple ways, including snapping selfies with the rear-facing cameras, controlling music playback and checking the weather/notifications, which is similar to how Samsung’s foldable handsets work.

Motorola will officially unveil the Razr 2022 on August 2nd.

New Moto Razr expected to launch on August 2nd

Motorola’s Razr finally has a release date, according to the company’s official handle on the microblogging site Weibo. The handset will launch alongside the Moto X30 Pro on August 2nd at 7:30pm CST (8:30pm ET).

The event will be flagship focused as both phones are poised to offer flagship-level specs. It’s also funny that this foldable-focused event takes place only eight days before the upcoming Samsung Unpacked event.

Both devices are expected to feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which is a huge upgrade.

Previous leaks suggest that the new Razr will bear a resemblance to the Galaxy Flip 3 instead of the Razr or Razr 5G. It will sport a boxier design and feature two rear-facing cameras, with a 50-megapixel primary shooter and 13-megapixel ultrawide. Additionally, the phone is expected to feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Previously, the company has started to tease its upcoming smartphone showing the phone folded and unfolded.

It’s currently unclear if the foldable phone will launch in Canada.

Motorola’s next Razr teased by Lenovo GM in new photos

It looks like Motorola is skipping the nostalgia this time around with its latest Razr foldable.

The company has started to tease its upcoming smartphone in China on microblogging site, Weibo, according to GSMArena. On the platform, Lenovo Mobile China GM Chen Jin recently showed off the phone both folded and unfolded.

It’s worth mentioning that Lenovo is Motorola’s parent company, which is why the GM had the device.

The design of the phone is similar to what we’ve seen in previous leaks. Motorola has ditched the look of previous Razr phones and is going the Samsung Z Flip route. The device also features a Cover Screen that’s a lot larger than what was featured in previous Razr foldables.

The Razr 3 is expected to sport a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It’s unclear if the foldable smartphone will officially launch in Canada.
