An (un)lucky horse saved by 40 firefighters

Lucky, a 20-year-old horse who was rescued from an extremely dangerous situation, is a true force of nature, full of resilience. After the ground suddenly gave way, Lucky found herself up to her neck in a chasm!

This unfortunate incident sparked a spectacular rescue operation in Los Angeles.

Maria Lastre was saddling Lucky for a ride when an accident occurred. Maria fell, hitting her chest on the saddle horn, but managed to escape before sinking with her horse into a chasm. Lucky wasn’t as lucky and got stuck, except that his neck and head were still visible.

The rescue operation was a demonstration of determination and solidarity.

More than 60 firefighters took part in the operation, including the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue (USR) team, the Animal Department’s Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team (SMART) and the Sanitation Department.

Firefighters spent nearly three hours working tirelessly to rescue Lucky from his abyss. The fire crew used excavators to remove the mud, and a carefully coordinated pulley system was then used to lift the 1,200-pound mare from the trap.

While the firefighters carefully dug out the soil to avoid any further injury or distress to Lucky, onlookers watched on eagerly.

Lucky’s owners were relieved by the incredible demonstration of both strategic and gentle rescue techniques. Lucky emerged covered in mud and with only a small wound to her leg, which was good news in the circumstances.

To the surprise of her owners and rescuers, Lucky was still able to walk when she emerged.

The horse remained calm throughout the operation until it was safe to lift him. Lucky is expected to spend several days convalescing before being saddled again.

Trudeau’s government reached a historic agreement with Google, how did they do it?

Google and the Canadian government have reached a $100 million agreement on the controversial Bill C-18, also known as the Online Information Act.

After months of negotiations, Google will continue to provide Canadian information on its various platforms, as Google has reportedly agreed to pay Canadian media companies $100 million a year to help them comply with the agreement.

Details of the application and implementation of this settlement had not yet been revealed at the time of writing, while Minister St. Onge would make the official announcement on Parliament Hill.

Google had initially expressed serious concerns about the bill, which the company described as a link tax that, according to Google, would have threatened the basis on which search engines have operated for over thirty years.

Google threatened to remove Canadian news articles from its search results in protest at the proposed regulations. This would have had a considerable impact on the accessibility of online information for Canadians, after Facebook had implemented the same threats earlier this year.

The announcement of this landmark agreement is a major development for Canadian information after a period of uncertainty, particularly over a future settlement with Meta, the giant behind Facebook and Instagram.

The agreement with Google was reached just before the December 19 deadline, when Bill C-18 will be implemented.

Ironman dies in tragic accident

Brian Kozera, a Pennsylvania Ironman who was also a police officer in his hometown and a cancer survivor, died suddenly at the age of 44.

Kozera was hit head-on by a car while training for three events leading up to the big event in Hawaii this October.

TMZ Sports obtained information from the accident report, then Kozera allegedly ran a stop/stop, sending him head-on into the wheels of a pickup truck.

According to the documents, Brian ended up in the back wheels of the pickup truck. Authorities said the 44-year-old man was quickly transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead from injuries.

Note that in 2014, Kozera was diagnosed with a rare cancer (Hodgkin’s lymphoma), and then knocked out this one in 2015, which actually pushed him to become an Ironman athlete.
