What’s new on Xbox Game Pass on console, PC and mobile in early October 2021

Every month, Xbox adds new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Typically, new titles are rolled out in two waves and now, Xbox has unveiled October’s first batch of new Game Pass games:

  • Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 5th
  • The Procession to Calvary (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 7th
  • Visage (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 7th
  • Back 4 Blood (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 12th
  • Destiny 2: Beyond Light (PC) — October 12th
  • Ring of Pain (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 14th
  • The Riftbreaker (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X/S) — October 14th
  • The Good Life (Cloud, Console and PC) — October 15th

Meanwhile, here are the games leaving the catalogue on October 15th:

  • Gonner2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Heave Ho (PC)
  • Katana Zero (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Scourgebringer (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Tales of Vesperia HD (Console and PC)
  • The Swords of Ditto (PC)

Xbox Game Pass is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Android and iOS in beta. Game Pass for Console and Game Pass for PC each cost $11.99 CAD/month.

Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $16.99/month and is required for streaming (which Xbox refers to as ‘Cloud’). On top of that, this tier includes Game Pass for both Console and PC, as well as an Xbox Live Gold subscription and access to EA Play.

Here are the free games hitting PlayStation Plus in October 2021

PlayStation offers a few games at no additional cost to those subscribed to its PlayStation Plus service every month.

Now, the company has revealed the trio of games that will land on PS Plus in October, which are the same three that were leaked earlier this week.

PlayStation 5 owners can snag the multiplayer shooter Hell Let Loosewhile the Canadian-made golf sim PGA Tour 2K21 and visceral fighter Mortal Kombat X make up the two free PS4 games.

All three games will be available for free through PS Plus from October 5th to November 1st.

PlayStation Plus costs $11.99 CAD/month, $29.99/three months or $69.99/year.

September’s free PlayStation Plus games, which include Hitman 2, will remain available until October 4th.

Here are the free games hitting Xbox Games with Gold in October 2021

Xbox has revealed the four games that will be offered at no additional cost to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in October.

It’s important to note that Xbox 360 titles offered through Games with Gold can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The Series X/S can also play all of the Xbox One and Xbox 360 games that are made available through the program.

In Canada, an Xbox Live Gold subscription costs $11.99 for one month, $29.99/three months and $44.99/six months.

However, Xbox Live Gold is also included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is priced at $16.99/month and also offers Game Pass for Console and PC, Cloud Gaming (mobile streaming) and EA Play.

Disney has revealed the full list of movies and shows hitting its Disney+ streaming service in Canada in October 2021.

Some of the month’s highlights include Marvel’s Black Widow becoming available for all Disney+ subscribers and the Halloween-themed Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales. 

October 1st
