Leighton Meester wants children with Adam Brody

Leighton Meester would like to have children with Adam Brody.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who married the 34-year-old actor earlier this year – has revealed she wants to follow in the footsteps of pregnant co-star Blake Lively.

She told Nylon magazine: ”Most people I know are starting to get married.

”It’ll be kids next. I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I’ve got dogs.”

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old – who starred as Blair Waldorf in ‘Gossip Girl’ – believes the drama series gave her a big break.

She said: ”I started the show when I was so young, and once it was over, I wanted to do things that were exciting and challenging and more me – more my adult taste.

”Of course, that’s said with nothing but gratitude and love for that experience in that time of my life.”

However, Leighton has revealed that she thinks it’s hard to find these more complex female roles.

She explained: ”As far as scripts go, the roles of women standing alone on their own as whole, real, full people are few and far between.

”So with both of those roles [‘Life Partners’ and ‘Like Sunday, Like Rain’ – her most recent parts], what I loved is that neither of them are centred around romantic relationships.

”They’re flawed, real human beings that I could bread down and really enjoy playing. They’re like me, in a way.”

Robert Downey Jr: Fatherhood is ‘terrifying’

Robert Downey Jr finds fatherhood ”terrifying”.

The 49-year-old actor – who has a two-year-old son, Exton, with his pregnant wife Susan – has confessed to being ”exhausted” by the tot and found it scary when the toddler learnt to walk and climb.

He told Access Hollywood: ”Yeah, he just wants to sling open drawers and grab knives.

”It’s really not stressful at all! When he first started walking, it was kind of like, alright, this is a little bit exhausting and terrifying, and then he kind of smoothed out and now he can climb things.”

The ‘Iron Man’ star’s worries seem to stem from an accident he had as a youngster which landed him in the doctor’s surgery.

He explained: ”I just remember when I was 2 or 3 or 4 years old, I found my way to the top of the refrigerator and I hung out there, that was like my spot until I lost my footing and banged my head on the radiator.

”I remember some doctors squeezing my head… I don’t want him to fall off the refrigerator.”

Robert – who is expecting a baby girl with his wife in November – also revealed he is excited to get to know his little girl and is curious about her personality.

He said: ”It should be great. I wonder [what] a little girl Downey will be like. I’m sure she’ll let us know.”

Drew Barrymore focusing on motherhood

Drew Barrymore is focusing on motherhood.

The 39-year-old actress – who gave birth to her second daughter, Frankie, with husband Will Kopelman last month – admits that although she ”loves” working on her beauty range Flower, she often works from home so that she can be around her 19-month-old daughter Olive.

Speaking before the birth of Frankie, she said: ”With the beauty company, I can work from home sometimes, so I get to spend time with my daughter.

”Even if I had meetings all day, I’m there in the morning and I’m home in time for an early dinner. That is what I want my life to be right now.”

The ‘Blended’ star is also committed to helping less fortunate children and works closely with a charity based in the United States.

In an interview with the new issue of Red magazine, she explained: ”I work with a foundation in the US that collects items for young families in need, whether it’s diapers, strollers, cribs or clothes.

”The human component is where my heart’s drawn to, charity-wise. Babies: that’s what gets me.”

George Clooney’s father happy about engagement

George Clooney’s father is ”thrilled” about his engagement.

Broadcaster Nick Clooney has praised the ‘Monuments Men’ star’s new fiancee Amal Alamuddin as a ”wonderful young woman” and couldn’t be happier that his son – who was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 – is to walk down the aisle again.

Nick, 80, told Us Weekly: ”We are thrilled. We have had an opportunity to interact with this wonderful young woman and these are two great people.

”We are thrilled at their decision and we hope for them the best.”

However, Nick refused to be drawn on any further details about George’s proposal, insisting it is information that should come from the 52-year-old star.

He added: ”This is his time, not ours.”

Nick’s wife Nina Warren previously said she is ”extremely happy” that her son is to tie the knot with the British human rights lawyer.

She said: ”You can say I’m extremely happy, Amal’s a lovely girl.”

Nina admits she and her husband, who met Amal over a year ago, weren’t surprised when they found out the couple had got engaged because they are well suited, due to their similar interest in international affairs.

She explained: ”We weren’t at all surprised when they told us they were engaged, and we couldn’t be happier for them. On an intellectual level, they are equals. That is very important to him. Amal’s world couldn’t be more different from the Hollywood lifestyle.”

Nina also believes Amal, 36, is completely different from George’s previous girlfriends – including Stacy Keibler, Lisa Snowdon, and Renée Zellweger – because she has budding career and is very intelligent.

Asked if Amal is similar to other woman who have dated George, 52, she replied: ”Heavens, no! She’s a lawyer, she is brilliant, she is a very bright woman and at the very top of her career.”

The couple first sparked rumors they had got engaged when the brunette beauty was spotted showing off a diamond sparkler on her ring finger as they indulged in sushi at Nobu in Malibu last Thursday (04.24.14), and her law firm later confirmed the news.

The pair were first linked after a dinner date in October and their romance has been getting increasingly more serious in recent months.

Usher’s son out of hospital

Usher’s son is out of hospital after he nearly drowned last week.

The ‘Climax’ singer’s five-year-old, Usher Raymond V, was rushed to the emergency room after getting his hand stuck in a swimming pool drain at the star’s Atlanta home last week, but has now been discharged and appears to be doing well.

The youngster was spotted enjoying a day of fun and games with his grandmother, Jonetta Patton, and four-year-old brother Naviyd at children’s play centre Mighty Jumps in Atlanta yesterday (12.08.13).

Although he is now out of any immediate danger, young Usher V was seen wearing a large bandage on his right arm, covering his injuries as they heal.

Usher’s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, 42, recently appealed to a judge to give her primary custody of Usher V and Naviyd following the scary incident, but her request was denied.

Tameka – who was married to Usher between 2007 and 2009 – filed an emergency motion for guardianship, citing Usher V’s "near-death accident" as proof of lack of supervision of the children on the singer’s part, as he wasn’t home at the time of the accident. Usher’s aunt, Rena, was looking after the two boys when the accident occurred. Usher V was saved by a contractor doing work at the home, who pulled him to safety and gave him Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The ‘Scream’ hitmaker was awarded primary custody of the couple’s two sons in August 2012 following a bitter three-year custody battle.

Michael Buble ready for son’s birth

Michael Buble isn’t moving more than 20 minutes away from home so he won’t miss the birth of his son.

The 37-year-old crooner’s first child with wife Luisana Lopilato is due any day now and the star is staying close to her as he awaits the birth.

He told TV show Entertainment Tonight Canada: "I’m about 15 to 20 minutes away from home. Just in case anything happens, I’m there."

The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ singer admitted it is a "scary" situation for Luisana, who is away from her native Argentina, but he is doing his best to keep her relaxed.

He added: "It’s scary for her. She’s in a country that’s not her country, people are speaking a language that’s not her first language.

"So, you know, I’ve got her whole family here so there’s a good support system."

Despite the hint of potential communication problems, Michael insisted the couple are not "anxious" about their son’s birth, although he can’t focus on anything else at the moment.

He said: "I don’t know what to expect, because obviously I’ve never expected before.

"I’m just really, actually enjoying it. To be honest with you, neither of us are anxious. We’re just excited, we can’t wait to know what it’s like. We can’t wait to meet this little guy."
