Steelers to trade for WR Allen Robinson

A huge offensive weapon is on their way to Pittsburgh, pending a physical!

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in talks to acquire wide receiver Allen Robinson from the Los Angeles Rams, according to multiple reports:

The 29-year old wideout was signed to a three-year, $46.5 million contract in March of 2022, but only hauled in 52 receptions for 339 yards with three touchdowns last season before his year was cut short after 10 games because of an injury.

Both sides agreed that a fresh start was needed, and it looks as though he’ll be getting it in the Steel City by catching passes from Kenny Pickett!

Kenny Pickett makes bold declaration

The Pittsburgh Steelers had themselves a new starting quarterback in the form of 1st round draft pick Kenny Pickett, who took over from the struggling veteran Mitchell Trubisky earlier in the 2022 NFL season.

Steelers fans are warming up more and more to Pickett as their starting quarterback, and they’re going to like even more what he had to say about how he feels playing for the iconic franchise.

“I’m just happy doing this. I genuinely like doing it. I like being here. In order to be great you have to have a love for the game. I want to be one of the best. I know what I have to do and there’s a lot of things that we need to do as a team to get us to our goals. I feel like it all starts with me and my play. I’ve got to be the guy that takes us there. I’m ready to take it on.”

“We just wanted to find a few days in the offseason, before spring practice started, where we could get down to Florida to work out and hang out off the field,” said Pickett. “Spend some time together and just build that rapport that we’re going to need this season. It was an awesome couple of days. We got a ton of work done and it was awesome to see the guys.”

“In college you spend a lot of time off the field together, whether it’s study hall or on the weekends and everyone’s in the same spot. But in the NFL, it’s kind of hard. Everyone has a family. Everyone’s off doing their own thing. It’s nice whenever you can get guys together and kind of go back to those college, team bonding days where you can really hang out and get to know each other.”

During his time in the black and yellow, he racked up a total of 39.5 sacks, 65 quarterback hits, 231 tackles and 8 forced fumbles in 81 games played.

Mason Rudolph reportedly wants to leave Steelers!

It’s looking more and more like the Pittsburgh Steelers will be moving on from quarterback Mason Rudolph, who has been with the team since being drafted in 2018. He’s coming off a one year contract extension that he agreed to after his initial four year deal expired; he was unable to compete for the starter’s role over Kenny Pickett and Mitchell Trubisky this past training camp.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers are interested in retaining Rudolph, but it doesn’t sound as though he’s returning the feeling.

“Absolutely the Steelers would want him”, Dulac said while taking fan questions. “But the reverse isn’t true”.

Over the course of his career, Rudolph has thrown 16 touchdown passes while completing 61.5% of his passing attempts.

Steelers confirmed to be thinking major move!

As the Pittsburgh Steelers continue preparations for the upcoming 2023 National Football League Draft, there have been rumors circulating that they could be considering moving up in the proceedings by making a trade.

As of now, the Steelers hold the No. 17 overall selection, but could be eying the No. 9 overall pick that is currently held by the Chicago Bears.

“Bears – Steelers is possible,” explained E.J. Snyder of Windy City Gridiron and Bootleg Football. “They’ve talked about it, I know they’ve talked about it. It’s by no means assured… they have had that discussion. The most likely connect-the-dots moment is that Pittsburgh needs an offensive tackle, and they go up for one because there’s one they like, and they’ll be gone by the time they pick at 17. [Bears GM, Ryan Poles] knows he needs a lot of players and moving down from nine to 17 still gets him a good one, plus additional picks.”

And now, CBS Sports NFL writer Ryan Wilson has confirmed that this is much more than just a simple rumor.

“There’s definitely some truth there, from what I’ve heard. It’s more than just smoke.”

Stay tuned, Steelers fans! The NFL Draft will officially get underway from Kansas City, Missouri later this month.

Ex-NFL widout Antonio Brown is being sued!

It seems as though with each passing day, there’s another incident with controversial former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, who has run afoul of the law on a number of occasions.

And now, he’s found himself in legal trouble. According to multiple reports, Brown is being sued for a cool $1.2 million by celebrity jeweler Shuki International

According to the lawsuit, Brown agreed to pay $1,095,000 for jewelry he received in 2022, but never came through with paying up. Included in what Brown received were the famous “Shuki International” diamond fingers, valued at $500K apiece.

This also isn’t the first time that Brown is being accused of non-payment of hefty sums.

Steelers considering major move before Draft

By now, you know that the Pittsburgh Steelers currently hold the No. 17 overall selection in the upcoming 2023 National Football League Draft, which will officially be kicking off later this month from Kansas City, Missouri.

And currently, it’s the Chicago Bears who hold the No. 9 overall selection; they originally had the first overall but dropped to their current spot in a trade with the Carolina Panthers that saw wide receiver D.J. Moore change locations.

Could the Steelers be eying the 9th pick that the Bears have right now? Don’t be surprised to see a trade go down prior to the festivities.

According to E.J. Snyder of Windy City Gridiron and Bootleg Football, the Steelers and Bears have had discussions regarding a deal.

“Bears-Steelers is possible,” Snyder said in a live stream on his Youtube page on Monday. “They’ve talked about it. I know they’ve talked about it. It’s by no means assured. Trust me, every team is talking to every team. … It’s not any sort of indicator that’s bound to happen. They have had that discussion.”

“The most likely connect-the-dots moment is that Pittsburgh needs an offensive tackle and they go up for one because there’s one they like that will be gone by the time they pick at 17,” Snyder continued.

The Bears and Steelers already have made a trade since new general manager Ryan Poles took over in the Windy City.

“Poles knows he needs a lot of players and moving down from nine to 17 gets him a good one plus some additional picks, whatever they negotiate,” Snyder said. “There is an example of how it works for both sides.”

Keep your eyes peeled for further developments, Steelers fans!

Mel Kiper: Steelers may draft wide receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers hold the No. 17 overall selection in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, and according to one notable NFL analyst, they’ll be looking to supplement the offense in order to give sophomore quarterback Kenny Pickett an additional weapon for his arsenal.

According to Mel Kiper, the Steelers will be snagging Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers with the 17th overall pick. Take a look at his reasoning below:

“This is around where we could see a run on receivers. Flowers is actually my top-ranked wideout. I love his explosion and ability after the catch. Pittsburgh’s wideouts had just five touchdown receptions last season, which ranked last in the league. The 5-foot-9 Flowers is a dynamo out of the slot, but he had plenty of grabs lined up outside too. He could be a nice fit with Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. Quarterback Kenny Pickett had a special connection with former Pitt teammate Jordan Addison, but I think Flowers would be the better pick for the Steelers,” Kiper wrote.

In four seasons, Flowers hauled in 200 receptions for 3,056 yards and 29 touchdowns, while also posting 78 receptions for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns in his senior year.

The Draft will be held later this month from Kansas City, Missouri, starting on April 27 through 29.
