Robert Pattinson had to bail from his film project, Parts Per Billion, an independent film by Rosario Dawson, who also has a role in the flick. Filming was set to begin this month in Los Angeles.

"Unfortunately, the prep time and production schedule on New Moon haven’t left enough time for Robert to work on Parts Per Billion in the first quarter of this year,"  Pattinson’s rep, Nicholas Frenkel, told MTV.

Pattinson was scheduled to shoot passionate love scenes with actress Olivia Thirlby (Juno), but fans will not get to see that.

Robert Pattinson Has a Backup Plan

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the British actor revealed that if he doesn’t get acting roles, he will shift gears and work on a music career.

"Music is my back-up plan if acting fails. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket," said the star.

The 22-year-old actor has a jump start on his music career already.  He recorded two songs for the Twilight soundtrack, although he insists that he didn’t abuse his status as the film’s star to get his music published.  He explained, "That’s what I was scared about, it looks like I’m trying to get a music career out of it or something. I’m not going to be doing any music videos or anything."

When recently asked about his love life, the British actor mentioned he was single and often has difficulty finding a gal with whom he’d like to start a relationship.
