Samsung S23 series preorders squash S22 sales numbers in multiple markets

Samsung’s latest S-series flagship devices are reportedly selling really well, as indicated by the company’s pre-order sales figures.

The data, which was compiled by Android Police, shows that the S23 series is selling better than its predecessor in markets like Taiwan, India, South Korea, France, and in some Latin American countries.

In Taiwan, Samsung has sold roughly 10 percent more S23 series devices during the preorder period when compared to the S22 series. Growth was even stronger in India with double the preorders than last year.

In Samsung’s home country of South Korea, preorder promotions for the S23 series were available for seven days post-launch. During that time, Samsung sold 1.09 million units of the S23 series, compared to 1.01 million units of the S22 series devices last year. A further breakdown revealed that the S23 Ultra accounted for 60 percent of the sale volume, while the S23 made up 23 percent of S23 series devices sold. The S23 Plus took up 17 percent of the sale volume.

In Europe, only France’s data is available at the moment. According to Samsung, it sold almost double the devices than last year during the preorder period from February 1st to February 16th.

Similarly, S23 preorders were 50 percent higher than last year in Latin America, with a large part of the sales coming from Brazil. “Sales were tracked from February 1 to February 13, and during this period, the S23 Ultra accounted for 59% of preorders in the region,” wrote Android Police.

Samsung has yet to reveal sale numbers for the flagship series in Canada and the U.S., though if other countries are an indication, the S23 series is likely to have outsold the S22 series during the preorder period here as well.

Find out how the S23 series compares to last year’s S22 series here.

Samsung’s CES-revealed Odyssey Neo G85NB coming to Canada in July

Samsung has just revealed that its 240Hz 4K gaming monitor, the Odyssey Neo G85NB will release in Canada in July 2022.

The Odyssey Neo G85NB is a 32-inch monitor with an impressive 3,840 x 2,160 1000R curved display, a design that matches the human viewing angles and depth perception better than shallower curves.

Alongside the 240Hz refresh rate, the monitor also features an impressive 1ms response time, providing a perfect combination between quality and performance. “Together with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the gaming monitor’s outstanding 4K 240Hz refresh rate and ultra-low 1ms response time allow players to get real-world accuracy to maximize their potential and compete at the highest level in any gaming environment,” reads Samsung’s blog.

The monitor features built-in “CoreSync” lighting on the rear, that shines whatever colour is on your screen onto the wall behind your monitor, kind of like the Govee Flow Pro Light Bars.

Additionally, the monitor has a matte layer on top of the display, “which provides both anti-glare and anti-reflection protection, minimizing distractions and keeping users focused on the content in front of them.”

The Odyssey Neo G85NB can be height, title and swivel adjusted, alongside VESA-compliant mounting.

“The G85NB was recently recognized for its innovative technology and named a winner in the CES 2022 Best of Innovation gaming category, as well as being a CES 2022 Innovation Award Honoree, also in the gaming category,” says Samsung.

The monitor includes a Display Port 1.4, an HDMI 2.1 port and two USB3.0 ports.

Get two years of Care+ free when you buy Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 today only

For today only, Canadians who buy a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung can get two years of Samsung’s Care+ Plan for free.

The offer is only valid on November 26th, 2021, but it’s a great Black Friday deal for those looking to pick up a Z Fold 3. Samsung says the Care+ plan has a $450 value, but it’s arguable a must-have if you’re getting one of the company’s foldables.

Care+ covers hardware repairs, with no limit on mechanical malfunctions or defects and up to two service requests for physical or liquid damage within two years. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 counts as a ‘Tier 5’ device, which means repairs have a $190 service fee under Care+. While that may seem like a lot, Samsung’s website lists an out-of-warranty screen repair between $679 and $977, depending on the model (it’s worth noting the Fold 3 itself isn’t listed, but similar models are).

You can learn more about the Care+ plan here.

With all that in mind, the $450 Care+ plan makes a lot of sense, and it makes even more sense when you get it for free with purchase.

To redeem the offer, Samsung says you need to select an eligible Fold 3 device, add it to your cart and select the option to add Samsung Care+ to the purchase. Then, complete your purchase as normal, and you should get the Care+ for free.

You can check out the deal for yourself here.
