Slayer To Release New Album

The rock group Slayer will release their ninth album, World Painted Blood, at the end of the summer under the American Recordings/Columbia Records label.

The album was recorded in Los Angeles and was produced by Greg Fidelman, who is best known for his work with Metallica and Slipknot.

World Painted Blood features 13 songs, 6 of which were written by guitarist Kerry King and 7 by guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Apart from the title song, the album also features Beauty Through Order, Unit 731, Playing With Dolls and Americon.

The album will not be released before the end of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, where Slayer will be performing until August 15. The last album released by the group was Christ Illusion in 2006.
