Keith Urban isn’t jealous of Nicole Kidman’s love scenes

Nicole Kidman insists Keith Urban doesn’t get jealous of her love scenes.

The ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ actress says her husband of eight years had no problem with her appearing naked in the new movie or shooting racy sex scenes with her co-star Colin Firth.

The 37-year-old star beauty told E! News: ”[It was] a very quick, quick scene.

”I suppose I don’t find those scenes awkward because once you’re in character, you’re in character. There is a way in which you work it out and if you’re both actors then you know what you’re doing. I mean, Keith’s obviously easy with everything because he feels incredibly loved and protected. And I think once all of that is fine, then it’s what we do.”

The Australian actress, who has daughters, Sunday, six, and Faith, three, with the country singer, regrets recently admitting she hopes ”every month I am pregnant but I’m not.”

She said: ”I’ve just got to learn. One, you can’t be irreverent. Two, you’ve got to be very careful with humor. Three, you know. I never learn. I’ve been doing this so long…”

She added: ”I mean, I would be blessed to have another child as…you know, we love our family. The chances of it are very slim, but hey, I’d be blessed.”

Teens who use mobiles after ‘lights out’ may struggle with sleep, depression

(Relaxnews) -Published in the October issue of the Journal of Pediatric Psychology, researchers found a link between teens who used mobile phones after they went to bed and poor mental health and suicidal thoughts compared to those who did not use their phones at this time of night. The researchers controlled for other factors, including alcohol and drug usage.

In the study, researchers investigated nearly 18,000 children in junior high and high schools in Japan, with subjects answering questions about their mental health, in addition to sleep and mobile phone habits.

The study follows prior research that finds poor sleep is associated with mental problems in teens. For example, a study published last year in the Journal of Psychiatric Research found teens who had difficulty sleeping were at an increased risk for suicidal thoughts.

Additionally, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lighting Research Center in the US found that looking at the backlit screen of certain electronic devices can suppress melatonin, a hormone produced during sleep, and cause sleeplessness. This study was published recently in the journal Applied Ergonomics.

The Effects of Depression on Newborns

According to researchers at the Sleep and Chronophysiology Lab at the University of Michigan, women who suffer from depression during childbirth are more likely to have a baby with sleep problems.

During the first six months of life, the babies have difficulties falling asleep and interrupted sleep, compared to newborns whose mothers are not depressed. This phenomenon was not only observed at night, but also during the day where nap times were shorter.

According to the study’s author, Dr. Roseanne Armitage, sleep problems in babies could be caused by cortisol, a hormone linked to stress that is secreted by the mother when she has depression.

Gene Linked to Narcolepsy

A team of researchers at the National Institute of Health has found a gene that is linked to narcolepsy, a disorder that causes daytime sleepiness, characterised by sudden episodes of sleep.

The gene, called HLA-DQB1*0602, is also known for its role in the immune system.  The gene has been linked with autoimmunity, in which certain people have antibodies that attack the body’s own tissues.  Now, researchers are finding a link between narcolepsy and autoimmunity.

"The link between narcolepsy and autoimmunity was proposed decades ago, but efforts to verify it have failed repeatedly. Current findings leave little doubt that autoimmunity plays a role," explained program director Dr. Merrill Mitler to the medical journal Nature Genetics.
