He confirms that things are looking up for his son, Mason, 16, victim of an accident and subsequent complications, and takes the opportunity to pay tribute to his wife, Heather, in passing.

“Things are stable at home. It hasn’t been an easy week, but I’m glad to be back. My passions are my family, then hockey. In that order (…) It’s great to be back, because things are better (…)” says the Habs coach, visibly in better spirits and happy to be back at work.

“(…) things have settled down. As for Mason, he’s back to normal, and so am I, and so is my wife. These are difficult times for the child, the parents, especially my wife, who’s been there. I missed a little bit of it, but she was there when it happened (…) I have a good team here, but I have a very good team at home (…) I have a lot of admiration for my wife, the way she handled it all,” adds the Canadiens’ coach.

It’s great to see Martin St-Louis so relieved and back with his troops, and we wish his little family all the best for the future!

Did Cher organize the kidnapping of her own son?

Did singer Cher organize the kidnapping of her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman, while he was with his wife, Marie Angela King, in a New York hotel on the evening of their wedding anniversary?

Whew!

That’s the story reported by Variety, a case alleged by Marie Angela King herself and revealed via documents obtained on the heels of her divorce from Cher’s son, at the center of this kidnapping story.

According to Variety, the couple had marital problems and spent several days in a New York hotel in 2021, working on their relationship. According to King’s testimony, which can be read in the legal documents, the stay was abruptly interrupted by four men who forced Cher’s son out of the hotel room, while one of them claimed they were acting under instructions from… Cher herself!

King even claims she hasn’t seen the man she married in 2013 since the events:

“I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts.”

“I am very concerned and worried about him,” King continued in her statement.

Also according to Variety, Allman, who has been battling a drug addiction for many years, was allegedly taken to a forcible treatment center under the direction of his mother, something King seems to corroborate in the documents in question:

“Since August 2022, I have been told that I am not allowed to see or speak to [Allman] who is currently in lockdown at a treatment facility that is undisclosed to me. I am also told [Allman] has no access to his phone.”

Few details of the divorce resolution are available at the time of writing, and the singer has yet to comment on the allegations made by her son’s wife.

Wayne Gretzky goes above and beyond for family that lost son in 9/11.

They call #99 “The Great One” for his outstanding play out on the ice, but we may soon have to change that name to “The Greatest One” thanks not to Wayne Gretzky the player, but Wayne Gretzky the man.

Over the weekend Gretzky joined the Spittin Chiclets crew during their broadcast of the FDNY vs NYPD hockey game, no doubt in an effort to help promote an event that puts the spotlight right on first responders. Being that the event was between a pair of teams based out of New York, Wayne Gretzky was asked to retell a famous story related to a family that lost their son during the tragic events of 9/11.

Gretzky would go on to share a story about how he met a family one day by the pool, a chance meeting that would forever change the contents of his wallet.

“Janet and I happened to be in Vegas for a charity event and they were sitting by the pool… sort of a family get together,” revealed Gretzky over the weekend. “I kinda walked by and they said ‘Are you Wayne?’ and I said yeah and they said ‘We had a son that tragically passed in 9/11 and here’s his picture,’ and they gave me his card and I said I’ll keep it in my wallet for life.”

It was a very nice thing for Gretzky to do and say, but surely no one would hold him to the impossible standard of keeping a photograph of a man he had never met, and would never meet, in his wallet forever?

Well according to Gretzky, a full decade later, he ran into friends of that very same family when he was once again in Las Vegas and what happened when they met will leave you in awe of Wayne Gretzky the man.

“10 years later I was in Vegas again for another event,” continued Gretzky “and friend’s of their family said ‘Can we ask you a question, do you still have that picture of our friend? Their family told us you were gonna have it in your wallet.’ I said yeah, and I pulled my wallet out and I still had the picture. I said I promised the family I would never lose it, I would keep it forever.”

Perhaps even more impressive than Gretzky’s unbelievable act of kindness was the completely humble and matter-of-fact matter in which he repeated the story. It was clear that Wayne did not want any kind of recognition for the gesture, although he certainly deserves it.

“You know what? Everyone went through a hard time,” said Gretzky. “For me to keep a little keepsake like that is special to me.”

The Great One ladies and gentlemen.

El Chapo’s son arrested, 29 people killed

No less than 29 people died during the capture of El Chapo ‘s son in Mexico, which is a huge number. It should also be noted that extradition to the United States is by no means guaranteed.

The people killed in the violent circus during the arrest were suspected gang members (19) and military personnel (10), while Mexican cartel leader Ovidio Guzman found his hands tied.

The capture was made in the northern state of Sinaloa, said Defense Minister Luis Cresencio Sandoval.

Guzman, 32 years old, is the son of drug lord El Chapo Guzman, who has been behind bars for several years.

The young Guzman was transported by helicopter to the plane that took him to Mexico City, and then entered a maximum security federal prison.

Such an arrest creates a shock wave, since the Sinaloa cartel went on a rampage setting fire to cars, or blocking roads…

Nevertheless, no less than 21 arrests were made in total, which is huge.

Note that no civilians were killed during this capture worthy of a Hollywood movie.

At the time of composing these few lines, it is not expected that Guzman will be extradited to the United States, either to New York, where his father has been since 2017.

“The elements (of the case) must be presented and the judges in Mexico decide. It’s a process … It’s not just the request. No U.S. forces were involved in the capture of Ovidio!” said Lopez Obrador.

It is important to note that an increased security presence will remain in Sinaloa for a few more days to protect the public.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn soundtrack due out in November

The official soundtrack for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I is due to hit shelves on November 8, ten days before the film premieres in theaters, reports Aceshowbiz.

The tracklist has yet to be announced, but some are speculating that the Noisettes’ single, Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit), might be included on the soundtrack. The song was used in a promotional clip – depicting Bella and Edward’s wedding night – that aired at San Diego Comic-Con last month.

Newly-reunited goth rockers Evanescence have also expressed a desire to see one of their songs featured on the soundtrack: "I’ve been screaming for [new song] ‘My Heart is Broken’ to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well," said drummer Will Hunt. "I got sucked into the ‘Twilight’ vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I’ve got to watch it."

Twilight: Breaking Dawn is the last chapter of the epic Twilight Saga. The film will be divided into two parts, with part one hitting theaters on November 18, 2011 and part two debuting the following year on November 16, 2012.

A sci-fi sound in U2’s future?

RedOne, the renowned producer behind Lady Gaga, has announced that Irish rockers, U2, plan to unveil a somewhat “futuristic” sound on their upcoming album to be titled, Songs of Ascent.

The synthesizer-loving producer enlisted to work on the band’s 13th studio album, has told Billboard: “We’ve put down a few ideas, but we don’t know how many will end up on there.” He claims that much of the inspiration for this new LP came from jam sessions with U2’s founding members: “I’m a guitar player, so it was just me and Bono and Edge playing guitar, exchanging melodies."

“They have a very special way of working,” RedOne continues. “A song is never done until the day before it comes out almost, so you never know. Bono described [the sound as] futuristic. U2 going sci-fi, or something. That’s how he described it, but I don’t know.”

U2 are currently on Leg 3 of their 360° TOUR in support of their 12th studio album, No Line On The Horizon.
