Bell has launched a new, lower-cost tier for Crave that is exclusively available for mobile devices.
Appropriately titled Crave Mobile, this plan costs $9.99 and offers all of the content offered in Crave’s base tier and HBO + Movies tier. Starz content remains a separate $5.99 add-on. This means that Crave Mobile includes Crave originals like Letterkenny, standard Crave titles like Star Trek: Picard and Warner Bros./HBO titles as Succession, Euphoria, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Tenet.
Meanwhile, Crave has renamed Crave + Movies + HBO to ‘Crave Total,’ although the price and its exact catalogue and features remain the same. That plan is priced at $19.99/month, making Crave Mobile a more affordable way of accessing all of that content.
The trade-off is that only a single device is supported and streaming functionality is locked to the Crave mobile app or a web browser. Casting is not available, nor is the ability to download content. Finally, the Crave website notes that streaming resolution with Crave Mobile is “good,” while Crave Total resolution is “best.” We’ve reached out to Bell to confirm the exact resolution for Crave Mobile and will update this story once a response has been received.
For now, the only way to sign up for Crave Mobile is through Crave.ca, although Bell says it will also be offered in the future through “participating wireless carriers.” You can also sign up for a 12-month membership there for $99.90.
In other Crave news, Bell just revealed what’s coming to the service in November — read more on that here.

Vancouver-born actor Hayden Christensen is returning to the world of Star Wars in the upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ahsoka is one of multiple The Mandalorian spin-offs and features Rosario Dawson reprising her role as fan-favourite character Ahsoka Tano. The alien Jedi originated The Clone Wars animated film and series as Anakin’s apprentice, making his appearance in her solo show logical. However, like The Mandalorian, Ahsoka is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, in which Vader dies.
Therefore, it’s unclear exactly how Christensen will appear, although it’s safe to assume it will be as a Force Ghost, a figment of Ahsoka’s imagination and/or flashback. (Then again, Lucasfilm bafflingly brought back Emperor Palpatine in 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker despite him getting vaporized in Return of the Jedi, so who knows?)
Beyond that, plot details are currently under wraps for Ahsoka, although The Mandalorian revealed that she was searching for classic Star Wars villain Thrawn. This would, presumably, pick up story threads from the animated series Star Wars Rebels, in which Ahsoka and Thrawn both appeared.
A release date for Ahsoka has yet to be revealed, although THR notes that it’s expected to begin production early next year. It’s possible we’ll learn more about the series at the Disney+ Day on November 12th. The event will offer a slew of announcements related to upcoming Disney+ programming from all of Disney’s brands, including Star Wars.
Apple has renewed Mythic Quest for a third and fourth season.
Rob McElhenney, the video game comedy’s co-creator, co-writer and star, announced the renewal in a video on social media.
Amusingly, the news came during an exchange between McElhenney and Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, who narrated the show’s second COVID special, “Everlight.” Jason Sudeikis, the co-creator, co-writer and star of fellow acclaimed Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso, also makes a fun appearance in the video.
Mythic Quest‘s second season wrapped up in June, although it hadn’t been clear until now whether the series would be returning. In the video, McElhenney confirms that Mythic Quest Season 3 will premiere sometime in 2022, before the third season of Ted Lasso.
Co-produced by video game publishing giant Ubisoft and Lionsgate Television, Mythic Quest follows a game development studio as it works on an expansion to its massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Several of McElhenney’s creative partners on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, including Megan Ganz and Charlie Day, also work with him on Mythic Quest.

Marvel Studios has revealed that the first two episodes of Hawkeye will be available when the series premieres on Disney+.
While we’d known since July that the series will hit Disney+ on November 24th, we had been expecting a single episode per usual Disney+ series rollouts.
Disney didn’t provide a reason for the special two-episode premiere, but it likely has to do with Lucasfilm’s The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorian spin-off is releasing on Disney+ on December 29th, which would have been the date of the Hawkeye finale if the series only debuted with one episode. Therefore, coming out with two episodes right away means that the six-episode-long Hawkeye will conclude on December 22nd, leaving Boba Fett free to have the 29th to itself.
Alongside confirmation of the two-episode premiere, Marvel also dropped a one-minute spot for Hawkeye that’s appropriately titled “Change of Plans.” The spot shows more Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and MCU newcomer Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop) as his companion fighting off unknown enemies during Christmastime. Linda Cardellini’s Laura Barton, Clint’s wife, can also be seen, following her appearance in Avengers: Endgame.
This is the last Marvel Disney+ series for the years, following the apparent delay of Ms. Marvel. However, we will likely learn about more of Marvel’s plans for the streaming service on November 12th. On that date, Disney will hold its inaugural Disney+ Day event to reveal more about what’s coming to its service from all of its brands, including Marvel.
Netflix has teased that a video game adaptation of its massively popular Squid Game series could be on the table.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Minyoung Kim, Netflix’s vice president of content for Asia Pacific, was asked about “what comes next” for South Korean survival drama series. In response, Kim floated the possibility of a video game adaptation.
“We’ve been getting an overwhelming but happy volume of requests from the organization [Netflix] — from the consumer product department, from the gaming group, from our other international teams. My team’s role is to really look at all of those opportunities together, to create that roadmap for the Squid Game IP,” said Kim. “We are looking at multiple different areas — from games, consumer product, and others — to really figure out what we can bring to our audiences to increase their affinity towards our content and give them more joy, while staying true to the world that our creator has built.”
Of course, that’s by no means a confirmation, but a Squid Game video game would make a lot of sense. As THR noted to Kim, gaming, in particular, seems like a natural fit for the property, especially given Netflix’s recent push into the medium. However, Netflix has said the bulk of its gaming efforts will be on the mobile front, so it remains to be seen what platform(s) game based on Squid Game would come to.
In terms of the type of game, the most logical genre seems to be a Fortnite-style battle royale. The series follows hundreds of cash-strapped players as they take part in deadly children’s games. Alternatively, a Fall Guys-inspired multiplayer game (think: Wipeout but even more chaotic and violent) also seems like it could work for Squid Game.
In any event, Squid Game is too big of a hit for Netflix to lay dormant. Therefore, it’s not a question of whether we’ll see more Squid Game, but rather what we’ll next see from it.
Discovery has confirmed that its discovery+ video streaming service will launch in Canada on October 19th.
The platform was first launched in the U.S. in January as part of Discovery’s larger goal to bring it to 25 countries in its first year. Discovery says it’s expanded its existing partnership with Toronto-based media company Corus Entertainment to roll out discovery+ to Canada.
discovery+ will cost $4.99 CAD with ads or $6.99 for the full ad-free experience.
“The launch marks the first time Canadian viewers will have access to the most comprehensive collection of real-life programming available anywhere,” said Discovery in a press statement.
Specifically, Discovery says discovery+ will offer Canadians access to more than 200 original series and 60,000 episodes of current and classic shows from its various networks, including the Discovery Channel, TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet and Magnolia Network, as well as natural history content from the BBC.
Canadian discovery+ titles will include Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, 90 Day: The Single Life and Naked and Afraid Of Love, Unseamly: The Investigation of Peter Nygard, No Responders Left Behind, Bobby and Giada in Italy, Queen of Meth and Love in Paradise. Programming featuring the likes of chef Guy Fieri, Canadian construction contractors Drew and Jonathan Scott (the Property Brothers), paranormal investigator Zak Bagans and dermatologist Sandra Lee (Dr. Pimple Popper) will also be offered.
Further, Discovery says more than 1,000 episodes of its “most popular” series will feature French subtitles, although specific titles weren’t mentioned.
Finally, here are all of the platforms that discovery+ will support in Canada at launch:
Android
Amazon Fire TV
Apple TV
iOS
Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices
Roku devices
Samsung Smart TVs (2017 and newer)
Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles
The service will support up to five user profiles and four concurrent streams.
