Taylor Swift gets friendly at awards shows

Taylor Swift says the best thing about awards shows is getting to party with her pop star pals.

The ‘Bad Blood’ hitmaker – whose relationship with superstar DJ Calvin Harris became public at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards – confessed that making friends with other musicians at the ceremonies has helped her to enjoy the events which can feel ”competitive” and ”strange”.

She said: ”That’s the cool part about the musical climate right now, is that I go to these award shows and I really do feel like I’m seeing a lot of my friends and the more friends that I make that are awesome and cool and are at these events, the less it feels like some strange competitive atmosphere.

”That doesn’t feel as nice as going to an award show and feeling like, ‘Hey! It’s everyone that I really loved!’ ”

Taylor is close friends with British musician Ed Sheeran and is pals with Sam Smith, and she is so thrilled with their success.

Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: ”I think that it’s been amazing to watch artists like Ed and Sam to put out their first single and have things hit so quickly and they are people that I am a huge fan of, I love what they do and I think that they are absolutely authentic and to top it off they are amazing people, they are fun to hang out with.”

The ‘Shake it Off’ hitmaker is currently on the road with her ‘1989 World Tour’ and invited non-music pals, models Cara Delevingne and Gigi Haddid to walk the stage with her at the Philadelphia gig – though she wouldn’t reveal whether she will treat fans in the UK to the same surprise now she’s in Britain.

She said: ”I think it’s fun to have people pop up and make special guest appearances on the tour even if they’re not musicians, like, fans still love them. The cool thing about surprise guests is that they are surprises.”

Taylor Swift wants to shake off Heartbreak Queen tag

Taylor Swift doesn’t want to be known as ”the Heartbreak Queen”.

The 25-year-old singer – who is currently dating Calvin Harris – insists she is a very happy person despite sharing her relationship woes with past boyfriends, including Harry Styles and John Mayer, in many of her songs.

Speaking to the June issue of America’s Elle magazine, she said: ”I don’t want to be known as the Heartbreak Queen. I want to be known for having a beautiful life. And that doesn’t mean that everything has to be good all the time. There’s beauty in the ups and downs. I want to be known as being a really good friend. I want to be known for being really loyal. I don’t ever want to be the person who looks at other people in their industry as competition and therefore ends up either alone or surrounded by an entourage of people who tell them they’re gorgeous and perfect and the best and queen and all of that. I don’t really have much of a queen complex.”

Despite being content with her life and career, Taylor no longer believes in the idea of ”happily ever after,” but she does hopes to find long-lasting love.

She explained: ”Now I have more of a grasp on the fact that when you’re in a state of infatuation and you think everything that person does is perfect, it then – if you’re lucky – morphs into a real relationship when you see that person is not in fact perfect, but you will want to see them every day.”

Rita Ora splits from Ricky Hill?

Rita Ora has reportedly called time on her relationship with Ricky Hill.

The ‘How We Do’ hitmaker has been dating the 25-year-old rapper – the son of fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger – since last summer alluded to the split during an interview with E! News during the Billboard Music Awards 2015 in Las Vegas on Sunday (05.17.15).

When asked by Giuliana Rancic how her relationship was going, Rita, 24, confessed she was feeling a bit ”empty” before adding ”let’s not go there”.

Their split may have come as a shock as just a few weeks ago, the pop beauty was said to be ”broody” and had been overheard discussing her desire to have kids in the future.

The singer – who previously dated Calvin Harris, Rob Kardashian and Evan Ross – is also thought to have been living with Ricky in London prior to their apparent split.

Meanwhile, Rita – who looked stunning in a revealing cut out white gown during the event at the MGM Grand Arena – is also said to have spent the evening avoiding her ex-boyfriend Calvin and stayed backstage for the duration of the show to keep her distance from the DJ and his new girlfriend Taylor Swift.

An insider at the event said: ”Rita was backstage the whole night to avoid Calvin and Taylor. The romance is big news – she wanted to avoid an awkward encounter or being pictured reacting.”

Taylor Swift: Sam Smith is a ‘babe’

Taylor Swift thinks Sam Smith is a ”babe”.

The ‘Stay with Me’ hitmaker recently revealed he has shed 14lbs in just 14 days, but his ‘Blank Space’ singer pal insists he always looks great, whatever his weight.

Taylor said: ”He’s always been a babe.

”He’s getting fitter, he looks great, but I always thought that Sam looked great, I don’t really care how much he is working out or whatever, I think it’s those eyes.”

The 25-year-old singer’s world tour kicks off in Tokyo, Japan, next week and she has turned into her own ”booking agent” to secure surprise guests for some of the shows.

She told ‘Extra’: ”I’ve started picking up the phone, I started sending out the emails, and the interesting thing is when you’re asking people to come and play for free, that’s something you have to ask them yourself, you can’t have your management go do it…

”So I end up assuming the role of booking agent essentially when I’m on tour and just being like so, can we check her schedule, the routing, and she may be able to make it to in between that date and that date…

”’Hey its Taylor, will you please come out, it’s going to be a stadium show, it’s going to be incredible, the crowd will love it.’ ”

The ‘Blank Space’ singer – who was originally reported to be taking her new romance with the 31-year-old DJ slowly – is now said to be desperately trying to find time to see him before she jets off on her ‘The 1989 World Tour’ at the beginning of summer.

A source said: ”Taylor wants to spend as much time as possible with Calvin before she leaves for her tour. So this month is all about Calvin.”

The blonde beauty, 25 – whose past love interests include John Mayer, Harry Styles and Taylor Lautner – is said to be ”smitten” with the ‘Summer’ hitmaker and he has already received the thumbs up from Taylor’s close pals.

The insider told HollywoodLife.com: ”They’re aware he’s treated Taylor great so far, she’s told them glowing things about how well-mannered he is towards her, so they think Calvin could be perfect for her.

”He’s also been a bit of a player in the past – but he wants to do the right thing by Taylor.”

It is thought Calvin first began to woo Taylor by texting her after the pair crossed paths at the BRIT Awards last month.

A source close to the 25-year-old signer said: ”That’s when it really started popping off.”

The couple were recently spotted strolling around Taylor’s native Nashville, Tennessee, before attending Kenny Chesney’s concert together and Calvin is said to have made no attempt to hide his affections for the star.

A source said: ”He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her.”

Taylor Swift mocks exam book for misquoting her lyrics

Taylor Swift has mocked an academic book for misquoting one of her songs.

The 25-year-old singer poked fun at the Princeton Review, an exam preparation book, for publishing incorrect lyrics from her 2009 hit ‘Fifteen’ and citing it as an example of poor grammar.

The book, which said ”pop lyrics are a great source of bad grammar”, claimed the lyrics read: ”Somebody tells you they love you, you got to believe ’em.”

However, the correct lyrics to the song are: ”Somebody tells you they love you, you’re gonna believe them.”

In response, Taylor posted on Tumblr: ”Not the right lyrics at all pssshhhh.

”You had one job, test people. One job.”

Subsequently, the Princeton Review has issued an apology and even offered to send two of Taylor’s fans to an upcoming concert.

The company tweeted: ”Sorry @taylorswift13! We’ll make it up to you. Pick a #grammar lover fan. 2 tickets to a U.S. show on us.”

Meanwhile, Jaime King said recently that Taylor will be the ”perfect” godmother to her unborn baby.

The ‘Hart of Dixie’ star, who is expecting her second child with husband Kyle Newman, believes she is the right person to take on the ”sacred” role.

The actress explained: ”I always knew she was going to be the godmother if I had another baby. Choosing a godmother is a very sacred and important thing in our family. They’re going to be guiding your child, and they’re responsible for them if something was to ever happen. We try and choose people who we know would raise our child the way that we would raise our child and her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her authenticity . . . is so powerful to me. She’s so uninhibited in her giving . . . It’s just beyond.”

Taylor Swift buys adult-themed web addresses to protect her name

Taylor Swift has bought two racy web addresses to stop adult websites being started in her name.

The 25-year-old star has bought the rights to TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult – both of which would have been available from June 1, when new alternative web ‘dot’ suffixes will be allowed – in an effort to stop her name being linked to any explicit material.

Taylor’s move follows in the footsteps of Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, who have done something similar in order to protect their five-month-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle.

Speaking in October, Ashton said: ”We got the Twitter handle, the Instagram, everything. I don’t want a porn site with my daughter’s name on it.”

And earlier this year, Taylor’s Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr accounts were all hacked, prompting an angry public response from the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker.

She wrote in reply: ”Any hackers saying they have ‘nudes’? Pssh, you’d love that wouldn’t you! Have fun photoshopping, ’cause you got nothing.”

Meanwhile, Diplo recently likened Taylor Swift’s fans to ”an army that’s worse than North Korea”.

In November, the DJ called on his fans to start a campaign to get the singer ”a booty”, but he recently confessed blasting her on Twitter was one of the ”biggest mistakes” of his career.

He said: ”All I know is don’t ever get into a feud with Taylor Swift. She has like 50 million people that will die for her.

”It’s like an army that’s worse than North Korea. You can’t step into that arena. That was something I was never prepared for … one of the biggest mistakes of my career was definitely f***ing with her.”

Taylor Swift has tea party with Ellie Goulding and Selena Gomez

Taylor Swift enjoyed a tea party with Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and Haim to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The 25-year-old singer paid tribute to her pals yesterday (08.03.15) as they spent the day together laughing and joking around, and sipping beverages in what appeared to be a swanky hotel.

In a picture of the five friends on her Instagram account Taylor can seen embracing Selena from behind with her arm around the raven-haired beauty.

She captioned the image: ”We are at our best when we cheer each other on and build each other up. Happy International Women’s Day.”

Ellie also shared a picture of the quintet which showed her, Taylor and Selena giggling away, while the Haim sisters, Este and Alana, looked to be having a relaxing time as they hugged each other.

The ‘Goodness Gracious’ hitmaker wrote: ”Well this is bloody CHILL @taylorswift @selenagomez@haimtheband (sic)”

Selena also got in on the Instagram act, sharing a photograph of herself perched next to Taylor relaxing on a chez lounge with her feet in the hair, and the ‘Spring Breakers’ star appeared to be particularly enamored with her pal’s coat.

She wrote: ”she’s so fluffy (sic)”

While Selena looked to be enjoying a nice cup of tea, not everyone appeared to be on the hot drinks as Ellie could be seen clutching what looked like a glass of white wine as they celebrated the annual International Women’s Day, which is on March 8 every year.
