Where to stream Ted Lasso in Canada

Ted Lasso sort of came out of nowhere during the pandemic, taking people by surprise with its winning blend of humour and feel-good optimism.

Now, less than three years after it debuted, it’s already looking like the series is about to end with its third season streaming on Wednesday, March 15th. That’s according to co-creator, co-writer and star Jason Sudeikis, who says he envisioned three seasons for Ted Lasso.

Therefore, you might be someone who’s been clamouring for more Lasso or simply a newcomer who wants to finally catch up with the show. Thankfully, it’s quite easy to do so. The series streams exclusively on Apple TV+ in Canada and worldwide.

The service costs $8.99 CAD/month with a free seven-day trial. It’s also included with Apple One membership bundles, which start at $18.95/month.

In the 12-episode third season of Ted Lasso, Ted (Sudeikis) leads AFC Richmond against West Ham United, which Nate (Nick Mohammed) has since joined. Unlike most Apple originals, new episodes of Ted Lasso will air every Wednesday, starting on March 15th, and currently overlaps with Disney’s The Mandalorian.

Ted Lasso Season 3 gets first teaser, March premiere date

Apple has confirmed that the third season of Ted Lasso will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 15th.

The company confirmed the date in a short teaser in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

In the teaser, a variety of characters make their own version of the “Believe” poster, including Jamie (Phil Dunster), Roy (Brett Goldstein), Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) and Keeley (Juno Temple). Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Beard (Brendan Hunt) then pop up at the end to admire the handiwork.

While the trailer doesn’t appear to reveal anything about the new season itself, it does confirm the premiere date, which is what everyone had been hoping to see. Last month, Apple simply confirmed a vague “spring 2023” premiere window.

It should be noted that March 15th is a Wednesday, making Ted Lasso the first Apple TV+ series to not drop on a Friday. The first episode will premiere on March 15th, with new episodes dropping every subsequent Wednesday.

Interestingly, Apple is only referring to this as the “third season” or, on the AFC Richmond Twitter account, the “new season.” There’s been speculation that this upcoming season would be the series’ last, especially given comments made by Sudeikis. However, it’s looking like Apple won’t be setting the record straight before the third season actually arrives.

While you wait for the next season of Ted Lasso, Apple has another comedy series from co-creator Bill Lawrence and Goldstein called Shrinking.

Ted Lasso’s third season will hit Apple TV+ this spring

The highly anticipated third season of Ted Lasso will officially premiere on Apple TV+ this spring.

Apple confirmed the news during a Television Critics Association event on Wednesday. Along with the release window, Apple also shared the first image from the new season, featuring Jason Sudeikis’ titular coach and Nick Mohammed as Nate Shelley.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Ted and Nate

The second season of Ted Lasso ran from July to October 2021, making the wait for the third season a bit longer than expected. Last year, it was reported that production on the season had been delayed due to a variety of rewrites and other behind-the-scenes changes led by Sudeikis.

The leading man, who also serves as producer and writer on the comedy series, has previously suggested that the third season will be its last. Brett Goldstein, who stars as Roy Kent and also writes for the show, has also said the crew has been approaching this latest season as the final one. Apple, however, has not yet commented on the future of Ted Lasso.

While we don’t yet know exactly when in the spring Ted Lasso Season 3 will land, Apple does have another show coming up before then from some of the same talent. Premiering on January 27th is Shrinking, a new comedy series Goldstein, Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence and How I Met Your Mother‘s Jason Segel. The series stars Segel and Harrison Ford (in a rare TV role).

It looks like Apple’s Ted Lasso is ending with Season 3

Ted Lasso is likely coming to an end.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, writer and Roy Kent actor Brett Goldstein said the creative team is approaching the comedy series’ upcoming third season as its last.

“We are writing it like that,” he said. “It was planned as three. Spoiler alert: everyone dies.” It should be noted that Apple itself has not commented on the future of the series.

While the bit about everyone dying is clearly a joke, Goldstein’s broader point about the series coming to an end lines up with previous comments from Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis, who also co-created the series. In 2021, Sudeikis told Entertainment Weekly that the show was envisioned as a “three-season arc,” although he admitted at the time that he didn’t know what might come after that.

Since its debut in August 2020, Ted Lasso has become Apple TV+’s flagship original series. The show, which follows an American basketball coach who travels to England to coach a soccer team, has garnered rave reviews and numerous Emmy nominations for its blend of humour, performances and uplifting tones.

Production is currently underway on Season 3, which is set to premiere on Apple TV+ later this year.

Ted Lasso, LeBron James and more have been datamined for MultiVersus

MultiVersus is an upcoming free-to-play crossover game featuring a variety of Warner Bros. characters, including Bugs Bunny, Batman, Steven Universe and more. Now, a new leak indicates that the beloved Ted Lasso is also on the way.

Reddit user “hugeleakeractually,” who confirmed the game’s existence and some of the current characters, has leaked a number of the fighting game’s upcoming roster. This is based on a data mine of the game’s code.

Some of the names are what we would expect, including Fred Flinstone, Johny Bravo, Scooby-Doo and the Powerpuff Girls, but it looks like Scorpion from Mortal Kombat and Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso are also making the cut. Alongside those two is LeBron James, who was featured in last year’s Space Jam: A New Legacy movie.

While this game probably won’t be as loved as Super Smash Bros, alpha gameplay videos and a quirky lineup of characters definitely makes this game very appealing.

MultiVersus is slated to launch later this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC.

Harrison Ford tapped to star alongside Jason Segel in Apple TV+ series Shrinking

Harrison Ford is making the leap to television as the acclaimed actor is set to join the Apple TV+ series Shrinking.

Shrinking was first announced late last year with Forgetting Sarah Marshall‘s Jason Segel set to star and write. Ford joins the cast in a leading role alongside Segal. It’s said thatFord has been cast to play Dr. Phil Rhodes, a sharp and down-to-earth shrink with a blue-collar edge to him.

Based on reports, Rhodes is a leader in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He has built a successful practice alongside two proteges Jimmy (Segel) and Gaby. However, Rhodes has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s. This diagnosis brings new challenges into the life of the doctor and his relationship with friends and family. Moreso, the series will also look at themes of one’s legacy.

Of course, Ford is best known for his theatrical roles in blockbuster films Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, and more. More recently, Ford can be seen in The Call of the Wild. In the near future, the actor will star in Indiana Jones 5.

However, aside from a short appearance during the Star Wars Holiday Special and various other TV projects, Ford has not ever been in a starring role on television.

Alongside Segel, Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence and star Brett Goldstein will write and produce the series. Being a fan of Ted Lasso, it’ll be interesting to see how some of that comedy can translate to Ford’s performance.

Shrinking is said to have a 10-episode run on Apple TV+, though release information is still up in the air. However, given that the production is still putting together casting, it may be likely that the series premieres sometime in 2023.

Apple TV+ is available in Canada for $5.99CAD/ month.

Apple releasing series premiere of ‘Foundation,’ next ‘Ted Lasso’ episode early

In a surprise move, Apple has confirmed that it plans to release the premiere of Foundation, the next episode of Ted Lasso and several TV shows, three hours early on September 23rd.

Usually, East Coast viewers need to wait until midnight on Friday to watch new episodes of Apple’s original content, but that won’t be the case this week. However, given that the premiere of Foundation is set to drop on the 23rd, the tech giant seems to have made an exception.

Apple’s tweet regarding the pushed-up release specifies that any new Apple TV+ episodes set to release September 24th will stream early, including The Morning Show, Mr. Corman, Truth Be Told, Ted Lasso and See. New episodes in all of the above TV shows will start streaming at 9pm eastern on Thursday, September 23rd (today).

Upcoming science fiction drama, Foundation, is based on Isaac Asimov’s book series that shares the same name. The David S. Goyer-produced show that follows a band of exiles trying to take down a galactic empire, is one of the tech giant’s most significant original content releases coming up this fall.

Apple TV+ costs $5.99 per month in Canada and is included in all Apple One subscription bundles.
