Elon Musk’s plans for futuristic subway replaced by parking spaces

SpaceX had plans to create a futuristic transportation system called the Hyperloop. Those plans have hit an indefinite pause.

Plans for the subway of the future involved levitating pods across tubes of tunnels under found Elon Musk’s futuristic transportation venture, the Boring Company.

But as reported by Bloomberg, a prototype of the tunnel, first unveiled in 2018, has been paved down and replaced with a parking lot for SpaceX employees. There are no signs of the tunnel along Jack Northrop Avenue, located near Space Exploration Technologies Corp’s Hawthorne, California office, the publication notes.

While there is no clear indication as to if and when the Hyperloop could come back, Musk has teased the idea regardless.

But it seems like the world’s richest man is preoccupied with other things, namely his bid to make money from Twitter users after buying the company for $44 billion.

Elon Musk sold $2 million worth of ‘Burnt Hair’ cologne in 24 hours

Elon Musk is now entering the fragrance industry with an “Omnigender” cologne name ‘Burnt Hair,’ proving yet again that his fanboys will buy anything with his name on it.

“The finest fragrance on Earth!” and “The Essence of Repugnant Desire” is what Musk and his Boring Company describe the cologne as.

The cologne is available for $141 in Canada, with a $50 shipping charge, bringing the total to $191. The amount can be paid with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Ethereum and stablecoins such as Dai, USDC, BUSD and more.

“Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter,” Tweeted Musk. According to VanityFairthe world’s richest man sold over $2 Million worth of ‘Burnt Hair’ within the first 24 hours of its release, which is pocket change considering his massive $44 billion USD bid to acquire Twitter.

Since the cologne hasn’t shipped yet (ships in Q1 2023), we don’t really know if it actually smells like burnt hair. It would be funny if it actually does, because the bottles would live on as collector’s item as I doubt anyone would want to spray that on themselves

This isn’t the first time Musk is selling products that he has no business selling. Back in 2018, Musk’s Boring Company started selling a flamethrower, whereas more recently, in 2020, Musk’s Tesla listed short shorts for $69.420 with the Tesla logo in front with “S3XY” across the back.

Elon Musk’s Boring Company will accept Dogecoin for rides in Las Vegas loop tunnel

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s alternate venture, The Boring Company, which prides itself in tunnel construction services, will soon accept cryptocurrency Dogecoin for rides in its Las Vegas, Nevada Loop tunnels, as reported by CNN.

The loop in question is located outside the Las Vegas Convention Centre and currently offers three stops, with plans to expand the loop to cover 50 stations on the Vegas Strip. Rides on the loop are currently free, but according to CNN, the company plans to eventually charge $1.50 for single rides and $2.50 for day passes. Riders will be able to buy tickets with Dogecoin by scanning a QR code at the new Resorts World stop. People who do not want to pay in Dogecoin can do so with a standard credit card or U.S. dollars.

Musk has long been a proponent of cryptocurrencies and frequently mentions them in his tweets. The current move comes a few months after Musk announced that Dogecoin payments are live on Tesla’s merch store.

In the past, when the cryptocurrency markets were trending up, Musk’s tweets in support of Dogecoin would send it rallying up. However, this time around, the price of $DOGE stayed rather stagnant, implying that Musk’s influence is slowly fading away, and market participants aren’t as hyped about Dogecoin as they once were.
