Warner Bros. and The Rock inviting fans to ‘exclusive’ Black Adam event in Toronto

Warner Bros. Canada has announced a “world-exclusive” event in Toronto for Black Adam that gives more than 900 fans a chance to see the superhero movie early with star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

While initially teased last month, the company has shared a new video message from the actor to his “favourite Mother Canuckers” alongside further details on the event, dubbed ‘Black Adam Rocks Canada.’

On October 13th at The Rec Room, fans can attend a special party hosted by Strizzzy with music by DJ 4Korners and giveaways for movie swag and other prizes. Following that, fans will head to the Scotiabank Theatre for an early screening of the DC Comics movie, which opens to the general public on October 21st.

Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to win:

  • A trip to Los Angeles for a winner and guest (includes airfare, hotel, and tickets to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood)
  • Annual Cineplex CineClub Memberships
  • An evening at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto, including complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea for two
  • Lower-bowl tickets to a professional hockey game in Toronto
  • Lower-bowl tickets to a professional basketball game in Toronto
  • An evening at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, including complimentary cocktails

While it’s noteworthy that Canada is getting a “world-exclusive” fan event with The Rock, the megastar is certainly no stranger to the country. His father, the late Rocky Johnson, hailed from Amherst, Nova Scotia, while The Rock himself had a brief stint in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.

Ronda Rousey wins debut WWE fight

Ronda Rousey won her debut WWE fight on Sunday night (04.08.18).

The former UFC champion was paired with Kurt Angle in a mixed tag team match against Triple H and his wife Stephanie McMahon at ‘WrestleMania 34’ at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and the 31-year-old star admitted it was her "favorite" fight of all time.

She said afterwards: "I feel absolutely ecstatic. After my wedding day, this is my favorite day of my life I think."

Rousey – who joined WWE earlier this year – threw numerous punches at McMahon and several throws before eventually claiming victory for the pair when she forced her 41-year-old opponent to tap out.

Following the ring success for Rousey and Angle – who, like Rousey, previously transformed from MMA to professional wrestling – she headed over to the ‘WrestleMania 34’ crowd and pointed at her husband Travis Browne.

The ex-UFC star had previously appeared at ‘WrestleMania 31’ in 2015 when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson invited her to take on Triple H and McMahon with him, and they tossed the pair from the stage.

She shares her ‘Rowdy’ nickname with former pro wrestler Roddy Piper – who died in July 2015 aged 61 – and wore his jacket ahead of her Sunday night grapple.

During the match, the 78,000-strong crowd chanted Rousey’s name and shouted: "This is awesome."

Rousey previously rose to prominence after winning 12 MMA fights in a row but following an undefeated run she suffered shock back-to-back UFC losses, to Holly Holm in November 2015, and Amanda Nunes in December 2016, which is her last professional UFC fight to date.

Elsewhere in ‘WrestleMania 34’, Brock Lesnar is still WWE Universal champion after managing a shock victory over Roman Reigns, The Undertaker returned to stun John Cena, and SmackDown women’s champion Charlotte Flair earned a surprising win over Asuka.

Dwayne Johnson wants to ‘marry’ Frances McDormand

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson joked he wants to marry Frances McDormand after she was so kind to his daughter.

The ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ actor’s 16-year-old girl Simone – who he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia – was an ambassador at the Golden Globes ceremony earlier this year, and the actress made her night.

Reflecting on the moment Frances won the best actress prize for ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Dwayne said: "I love Frances as we all do. She goes up to speak, and right before she speaks, she turns around and walks to the back of the stage and shakes Simone’s hand out of the blue. It just blew me away, ’cause no one did that.

"[Frances] had the awareness to do that to my 16-year-old daughter. She thanked everyone and turned around, thanked her. She gave her speech, now as she’s walking off, Frances grabs Simone’s hand, and she has the Globe in this hand, she has Simone’s hand in this hand, she kisses Simone’s hand, and I was like Jesus. …

"So beautiful of her. I’ve been meaning to call her and tell her but now that I’m here, I gotta tell you, Ellen, I got a little crush on Frances."

It’s certainly made an impression on Dwayne – who also has two-year-old daughter Jasmine with pregnant partner Lauren Hashian – as he quipped he might have to tie the knot with the 60-year-old star.

He teased: "We’re gonna have to exchange numbers because just between you and I – I know nobody else is watching – we’re gonna get married. It’s not gonna be weird, Lauren’s down with it."

Chris Brown’s $100k Hurricane Harvey pledge

Chris Brown has pledged $100,000 to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey following an appeal by Kevin Hart.

The ‘Beautiful People’ singer has announced he will make the donation after millions of people’s lives were left devastated following destructive flooding in Texas, leaving them without homes and safety.

In response to a plea by comedian Kevin, Chris said in an Instagram video: "What’s up big bro, Kevin Hart. I accept your challenge. We need to come together.

"I’m donating $100,000. So man, this is for everybody out there in Texas, the relief and everything. I accept the challenge and I implore and encourage everybody else, who can change and make a change for this, to please donate and help out. Love you all."

Kevin took to his Instagram account yesterday (28.08.17) to ask his celebrity friends for help for his Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge.

He said: "Serious moment right now, I’ve just caught up to speed with everything going on in Houston with Hurricane Harvey and this s**t is uneblievable.

"I think we’ve participated in a lot of challenges on the internet. Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we’ve all done ’em.

"At this point I’m going to start a real challenge. I’m challenging a lot of my celebrity friends to donate $25,000 to Hurricane Harvey, to Red Cross.

"This is a serious matter. The people are in bad shape and they need help. I’m going to lead the charge and step up this way.

"I challenge The Rock, Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jerry Seinfeld, and I think when you do it you all should tag somebody else. $25,000 is coming from me. Prayers go out to Houston."

He added the caption: I’m calling this the Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge….Lets go @therock @beyonce @chrisrock Jay Z Dave Chappelle @jerryseinfeild @iamsteveharveytv @justintimberlake #HurricaneHarveyReliefChallenge #prayforhouston …..I am getting a link together now people. Help me help Houston…. (sic)"

But he later admitted he was pledging $50,000 to the cause instead of $25,000.

Kevin’s plea comes after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas on Friday evening (25.08.17), devastating buildings and leaving huge floods.

The natural disaster has affected people in several large cities, including Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

Kid Rock running for Senate

Kid Rock is running for US Senate.

The 46-year-old musician – who is a dedicated supporter of US President Donald Trump – has revealed his plans to turn to politics.

He shared a mocked up picture of a campaign sign on Twitter which said "Kid Rock For US Senate" and wrote: "I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES.

"Stay tuned, I will have a major announcement in the near future – Kid Rock."

The website features a number of signs with different slogans, including "Welcome To The party", "Born Free", "Party To The People", "I’ll Rock The Party", and "You Never Met A Politician Quite Like Me".

Supporters can also buy branded merchandise for Kid Rock’s 2018 run on the site and sign up for email updates.

However, Kid – whose real name is Robert James Ritchie – has not yet filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), so his bid is not official.

Kid Rock is not the only star who is interested in a political career and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently revealed he is considering a run for US President in 2020.

He wrote on Instagram: "The idea of one day becoming President to create real positive impact and global change is very alluring."

And he added: "A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’ I didn’t want to be flippant – ‘We’ll have three days off for a weekend! No taxes!’"

"I think that it’s a real possibility."

Hunky Zac Efron ’embarrassed’ by attention

Zac Efron finds discussion about his body "embarrassing".

The 29-year-old actor was motivated to get into incredible shape for his role in the new ‘Baywatch’ movie by his co-star The Rock but admitted that he hates talking about his abs.

Speaking on ITV chat show ‘Lorraine’, he said: "It’s weird. It’s embarrassing to talk about. It’s a lot of training. I was with The Rock, so it’s motivation. We never worked out together though."

And Zac was extremely embarrassed when his co-star Priyanka Chopra said: "He has muscles where muscles don’t exist!"

Meanwhile, Zac recently joked that kissing Dwayne Johnson was "one off the bucket list" for him.

The 29-year-old actor got to kiss his ‘Baywatch’ co-star on the set of the hit movie and quipped it was something he had always dreamed of doing.

He said: "He tasted like a Winterfresh commercial. It was crazy. It was like, ‘He’s good at that too?’ He’s just the best at everything … It was an awesome kiss and one off the bucket list for me for sure."

It comes after Dwayne revealed Zac has "soft lips".

When asked what Zac’s lips feel like, Dwayne first joked "Millions and millions of young ladies, and ladies in general, want to know … His lips were like if you have a bottle and you shatter it on the ground – that shattered glass," before then adding that they were incredibly "soft lips".

However, Zac admitted that kissing co-star Alexandra Daddario was a much more pleasant experience.

Asked which of his co-stars was a better kisser, Zac added: "She [Alexandra] was a better kisser for sure. But it was funnier to look up and see Dwayne’s face."

Ilfenesh Hadera raised by ‘tough’ mother and grandmother

Ilfenesh Hadera feels lucky to have been raised by her "f***ing tough" mother and grandmother.

The 31-year-old actress was recently praised by her ‘Baywatch’ co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson for being "tougher than new rope" and she has admitted her mental strength comes from the two most important women in her life.

She said: "I am lucky to have been raised by some incredibly strong women.

"My mother and grandmother are the most compassionate, wonderful, lovely women I know, but they are f***ing tough. My grandmother is 84, and she is active, self-sufficient, smart, adventurous and as tough as nails. My mom is the same. She is my best friend, and she is the f***ing coolest. She is from Vermont and has a total hippy vibe. She never judges, always listens, and gives great advice."

The brunette beauty portrays Stephanie Holden in the fitness-led blockbuster but was initially terrified of swimming through the sea as she suffered an embarrassing blunder in the pool a decade ago.

Speaking in the next issue of The Red Bulletin magazine, she explained: "I was in the YMCA swim team before starting high school. At my final meet,I was standing on the starting block, and I just fell into the water before the whistle blew. It was the most excruciatingly embarrassing moment. I wanted to stay at the bottom [of the pool]. It was horrible.

"I’m a pretty strong swimmer. For two months, we trained twice a week, two hours a session. Two hours in the pool is a long time. Swimming is insane exercise – a total body workout."

Although she now has an impressive acting career, Ilfenesh had to work hard to achieve her dreams.

She said: "You have to actively remind yourself of that. I’m really fortunate that I’m finally able to do what I love to do every day; there were many years of working in restaurants to pay the bills. So what was I? A hostess, not an actress. But that was a stupid way to look at it. As long as you’re hustling to get where you’re supposed to be, there’s no shame in what you’re doing to get there."

Dwayne Johnson won People Sexiest title because he doesn’t try to be sexy

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson thinks his efforts not to be "sexy" led him to be crowned People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2016.

The publication has confirmed the 44-year-old movie star has been chosen to receive the honor and in the magazine’s cover story he explains why he feels he is this year’s winner.

Asked why legions of fans think he’s a heartthrob, he said: "This is the kind of question that gets me into trouble. Ah, a sense of humor. And I think probably just not trying to be sexy and just being cool and confident in your movies. I think with a lot of my fans, I’ve gotten to a very, very cool place where there’s a direct line between the man they know off-screen and the man they see on-screen."

Johnson – who still wrestles part-time for WWE – also admitted he exfoliates and that his healthy glow could have played a part in him receiving the title.

He quipped: "It starts with the skin. We’ve only got one face. You’ve got to take care of it. So I exfoliate."

And on what was on his mind when he heard the news, he added: "I said, ‘That’s awesome.’ And then what went through my mind was just how cool and exciting it is. And then I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle.’ I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. I’ve done it all, this is it!"

Meanwhile, the ‘San Andreas’ star – who has 11-month-old daughter Jasmine with his long-term partner Lauren Hashian and Simone, 15, with his ex-wife Dany Garcia – has opened up about his "non-traditional" family and how they keep him grounded.

He said: "I’ve made big sweeping changes in my career over the years, which have served me nicely. But I feel that the big sweeping changes that happened in my life, in my relationships, of being a dad, of being a partner, and the things that I was and the things that I am, has really lent itself to a confidence.

"We just have this awesome family that is truly non-traditional but so rooted in love. And that’s such a cool thing, I’m very proud of it."

Dwayne Johnson gets pooped on

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter was so unimpressed by his motivational speech, she pooped on him.

The ‘Jumanji’ actor – who has eight-month-old Jasmine with girlfriend Lauren Hashian, as well as 14-year-old Simone from his marriage to Dany Garcia – was trying to chat to his youngest child about the "value of hard work" and earning respect, but she didn’t pay much attention to his words.

Sharing a cute picture of himself with Jasmine perched on his shoulders, he wrote on Instagram: "Its Labor Day. One of my favorite holidays as we celebrate the blue collar American worker and their contributions to our country thru labor and sweat.

"In the spirit of Labor Day, I had an amazing philosophical conversation w/ my baby girl about the value of hard work and how respect is given when it’s earned. I told her, "Baby girl when you grow up, you get out there and dent the universe thru hard work and sweat. And always make sure you do it in a positive way with class, dignity and respect".

"She responded by poo’ing on me in this moment as she plays her favorite game, "Drum time on daddy’s big head". It was a good talk. #HappyLaborDay #TheJohnsons #GoodTalksWithDaddy (sic)"

When the 44-year-old star became a parent for the second time, he admitted he wanted to be a "better man" and a "great father".

He posted alongside his first picture of Jasmine: "Kinda crazy but in this cool and powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday.

"If I can accomplish that, then I’d have a good shot at being a great father.

"To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of ‘being better’ will never steer you wrong. Trust me."

Kelly Brook wants another film role

Kelly Brook wants to land another movie role.

The 36-year-old model made a name for herself across the pond when she landed the role of Danni Arslow in ‘Piranha 3D’ in 2010 and is now keen to bag herself an even bigger part.

A source said: "Kelly’s desperate to bag another big role in Hollywood and really crack the States this time."

The brunette beauty has sparked rumors she’s gone under the knife to increase her bouncy bosoms but it’s believed she’s opting for non-invasive techniques as she believes a fuller bust will help her snatch a big blockbuster.

The insider explained to Closer magazine: "She hasn’t had surgery, but is using non-invasive techniques to give her bust a natural boost in the hope it’ll get her notice."

Meanwhile, Kelly was in the running for a major role in the forthcoming revamped ‘Baywatch’ film after she had a read through of the script but her chances were destroyed when Pamela Anderson, who starred in the original, agreed to join the beachside blockbuster alongside Zac Efron.

She said previously: "They’re remaking ‘Baywatch’ with Zac Efron and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. But they are still writing it. I’ve read the script and they are rewriting it so I don’t know if there is a role in there for me. I’m a bit old to play Pamela Anderson role so I don’t know, but I know all the producers and it’s funny and we’ll see. I don’t know."

Despite not bagging the leading role, it’s not known if Kelly has still managed to bag a minor role.
