Apple CEO Tim Cook earned $98.7 million USD (roughly $125 million CAD) last year, according to a proxy statement filed by the company.

Cook’s salary stayed consistent at $3 million ($3.8 million CAD) but saw the addition of $82.3 million (roughly $104 million CAD) in stocks, and $13 million ($16.4 million CAD) in other compensation, including incentives. This is almost seven times his 2020 pay and eight-and-a-half times his 2019 pay.

MacRumors reports this number doesn’t include the $750 million in shares Cook took on as part of a ten-year package when he became CEO.

The increase in pay is reflective of Apple’s general success over the last year. When stock markets opened for the first time this year, Apple became the most valuable company in the world when it was (momentarily) valued at $3 trillion USD.

But this success wasn’t reflected throughout the company. As The Verge reports, Apple employees were vocal about a number of issues last year, including transparency on pay equity. Employees also launched a website to share statements on alleged mistreatment they faced at the company.

The statement further goes on to say the median compensation for employees in 2021 was $68,254 (roughly $86,000 CAD). This includes base salary, bonuses, and commissions. The compensation ratio between Cook and employees is 1,447 to 1.

Amber Heard and Elon Musk reportedly have a "casual" relationship.

The 30-year-old actress, who was first linked to the billionaire founder of Telsa last summer following her split from ex-husband Johnny Depp, attended a VIP movie screening of Al Gore’s upcoming documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,’ with him in Palo Alto, California on Tuesday night (02.28.17), but insiders claim they’re too busy to make a commitment.

A source told UsMagazine.com: "They continue to see each other and hang out from time to time when they are in the same city. It is nothing new. He is too busy doing things like building a tunnel under L.A. and sending people into space to seriously pursue anyone.

"Call it what you want. But they hang out and casually see each other whenever time permits."

Other well known faces at the screening included actress Michelle Pfeiffer and Viacom’s Bob Bakish, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

A source previously claimed the ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star was "smitten" with the 45-year-old entrepreneur and wanted to go public with their relationship after her divorce was finalized in January.

The insider said: "Amber is over the moon about her divorce but she is even happier about being able to go public with Elon.

"She was telling friends over Christmas how smitten she is with Elon. They are already planning a lot of adventures together and she’s relieved she can move on with her life.It’s an exciting new chapter for both of them."

Elon recently divorced actress Talulah Riley for a second time after the couple rekindled their romance in 2013 following a year’s split.
