Tony Romo sounds off on Dak Prescott

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo now makes his living as an NFL analyst, and he’s known for his astute commentary.

It wasn’t long ago that he certainly wasn’t shy about offering criticism for Prescott’s play in a season that saw him toss a career high in interceptions. And while Romo is still in Prescott’s corner, the former stated plainly that it’s Prescott’s job to overcome those struggles if he intends on being a true franchise quarterback.

“It’s learning, evaluating,” Romo said on Thursday at the annual Invited Celebrity Classic golf tournament. “The year you have the most interceptions, sometimes you have three other years that could have been right around that [high number]. But you have four balls dropped in two games that were easy interceptions, but they didn’t catch them.

“And there were years like the year I had the most [interceptions], six balls you could say should have been caught by our team and so that still falls on you. That’s why you play quarterback because it’s your job to overcome it.”

Prescott has two years remaining on his current already hefty contract, and team owner and general manager Jerry Jones has made no secret that he hopes to have Prescott around for the long haul.

Jim Nantz shares true thoughts on Tony Romo!

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS analyst Tony Romo may have been getting a lot of criticism lately, but don’t count Jim Nantz among his detractors.

Romo’s broadcast partner in the booth even went so far as to say that the campaign against Romo was “misinformation”.

“I think there was a little bit of a misinformation attempt there to portray him in a not-so-favorable light,” Nantz told SI.com. “It was very disappointing. It really got to me … And for the life of me, I didn’t understand it.”

He would later continue:

“I have never had better chemistry with anybody in my career,” Nantz told the Post.

“Tony is the best. He’s the absolute best. And he’s also one of my best friends. I love the guy. And when somebody starts questioning our chemistry, there’s an agenda there,” Nantz said. “There is nothing wrong with our chemistry.

It certainly appears as though Romo has a staunch defender in Jim Nantz despite what the naysayers whose voices have grown louder in recent months would have to say. Do you agree with him?

Looking for Mr. Normal

Jessica Simpson refuses to confirm rumours that she is dating Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan. Music-News reports she has had it with celebrity boyfriends and just wants to find an Average Joe.

She says, "I’m just looking for somebody that’s normal! That’s it! By ten years I would love to be a mom, I would love just to be in love and be a mom. It sounds simple but it’s a lot harder (than you think). I’m pretty picky."

The singer’s mother, Tina, has bigger plans for Simpson. She desperately hopes her 29-year old daughter will meet someone with a good career who can take care of her.

Last March, Simpson talked about the kind of man she wanted to find: "I want a confident man. A man who understands me and can deal with my life and is not embarrassed by my life. And can support my life. And allow me to be powerful in the relationship. I’m not going to give up my role in this life to just be a housewife."

Jessica Simpson has been linked to several celebrities since her divorce from singer Nick Lachey, including NFL player quarterback Tony Romo and singer John Mayer.

Jessica Simpson learned nothing

Her life as a newlywed with ex-husband Nick Lachey was on reality television for all to see. Her ex-boyfriend John Mayer just described her as sexual napalm. Another ex-boyfriend, football star Tony Romo, dumped her the day before her birthday. Has Jessica Simpson learned anything from these past relationships?

"Nothing." That is what the singer said in an interview in the latest Allure magazine. The star also told the mag that not one of her relationships ended bitterly.

She mentioned her ex, Tony Romo. "I talked to Tony today. I’m still a fan [of the Dallas Cowboys]. I’m a huge fan. I wear my gear, and I cheer Tony on."

She also cleared up another rumour during the interview, this time about her ex John Mayer. She says, "He didn’t make me go brunette. John doesn’t get credit for making me brunette. He’d like to think so, but he doesn’t deserve the credit."

Were Jessica Simpson and Kenny Chesney Flirting?

According to People, Kenny Chesney recently responded to tabloid reports that suggested that Simpson was flirting with Chesney at a Fourth of July party.

"Tony’s a friend, and I wouldn’t flirt with a buddy’s girlfriend," explained Chesney. "More importantly, Jessica was just being sweet and there was nothing else to it. It’s not funny. There were no problems. After the party, everybody went their own way and nobody thought anything more about it."

The party was hosted by Chesney’s friend, Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints.

"If a girl and her boyfriend can’t go to someone’s house for a Fourth of July party and talk to the other guests without it turning into a big nightmare … , then I feel really sorry for Jessica and Tony, who’re both really nice people," added the country singer.

Simpson and Tony Romo, a Dallas Cowboys quarterback, broke up on July 9.
