You can now order Starbucks for pick-up at Toronto Pearson through UberEats

Toronto Pearson International Airport and Uber Eats will allow travellers and airport workers to order food for pickup from more than 20 on-site cafés and restaurants.

Through the Uber Eats app on iOS and Android, you’ll be able to skip the line at Starbucks, A&W, Subway, Fionn MacCool’s, The Hearth, Twist, Caplansky’s Deli and more. To help make this easier, the Uber Eats app will also now detect whether you’re at Pearson and bring up a screen letting you know about which restaurants you can order from.

In addition to being more convenient, Pearson says this is intended to help reduce physical contact amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an expansion of Pearson and Uber Eats’ existing partnership, which has allowed travellers to order food for delivery to their gate.

Toronto Pearson Airport gets a makeover

With the summer travel season upon us, Toronto Pearson International Airport is working hard to improve customer service as travelers move through the busy hub.

Initiatives include a new logo, website and a whole host of new and improved services at the airport itself.

"We believe with 32 million passengers coming in and out of the airport we are the first and last impressions for this region and so we want to make sure we’re showcasing the great events and cultural activities going on in the city," said Pamela Griffith-Jones, with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

The new website, torontopearson.com, is designed to help customers find information more easily. Once at the airport, travelers can take advantage of customer service representatives who have undergone extensive training – and even taken part in scavenger hunts – to ensure they know the region inside and out.

By popular request, the airport is also adding more charging stations for cell phones and laptops, in addition to the free wi-fi already being offered.

To help draw attention to some of the many summer festivals and events taking place in the city, the airport will feature various activities, installations and entertainment, including a Honda Indy car on display and artwork by Bruce Mau that will be part of Luminato art festival later this month.
