Gene Simmons of Kiss penned a deal with Universal Music Canada to launch Simmons Records, his own record company, reports RollingStone.

On his Web site, Simmons posted, “If you’re reading this and you’re in a Canadian band (only!!!)….and you believe you’re the next Elvis or Beatles (don’t we all…)…go to SIMMONSRECORDS.COM and we will tell you how YOU can submit your electronic demo. This is serious.”

The rocker added that his label will sign three artists or groups in the first year. He expects to help jump start their careers in Canada, before going international.

Vince Vaughn Signs A Deal With Universal

Together, the two companies will make three films, which may star the popular actor.  Vaughn will begin the contract by making the film Male Doula, a comedy inspired by one of his own ideas, and will be screenwritten by Dana Fox (What Happens in Vegas…).

Vaughn is also partnering with his producer from the film The Break-Up, Scott Stuber, for two other projects.  One yet-untitled project was written by Jon Favreau about couples who attend a retreat to rescue their marriages.

The final project is entitled Realtors, and will be a satirical film about the competition among real estate agents.
