Posh campaigns for health, not size 0

Orange News reports that Victoria Beckham decided to support a campaign asking design houses not to hire models that are too thin.
 
The former Spice Girls singer is known throughout the fashion world and launched her first clothing collection in 2008.
 
During a taping of The View on Wednesday (February 17), she talked about how she has signed on to support an initiative launched by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). It encourages the fashion industry to be more responsible when working with young and often vulnerable models.
 
Beckham says, "The CFDA have reached out to designers, stylists and casting directors not to work with underage models, girls that are too thin and to be more ethnically aware. And I think designers are listening."
 
The star says she was at a casting session recently and some of the girls who showed up were incredibly thin. She says that they would not have worked for her.
 
She adds, "The campaign the CFDA has launched is called Health is Beauty and they are definitely encouraging designers to work with healthier sized models."

New sunglasses by Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham teams up with London glasses group Cutler & Gross to relaunch her sunglasses collection, reports Coco Perez.

The styles include square metal frames, square acetate frames, cat-eye frames, aviator frames, and a few other looks.

Victoria Beckham sunglasses for the 2010 spring/summer season are available online at Net-A-Porter and will soon be available at Bergdorf Goodman.

This spring, Beckham will also launch her new jeans collection, Victoria Beckham Denim, offering cigarette styles, boyfriend jeans and jackets.

The star has decided to give denim another try after her dVb collection from 2008 was not exactly a success. Kitson boutique in L.A. and Saks Fifth Avenue took the clothes off the shelves due to disappointing sales.

Victoria desperately wants a girl

Singer-turned-designer Victoria Beckham has three boys with her husband, soccer player David Beckham. According to Music-News, she hopes to get pregnant and have a girl this year after her hubby finishes playing in the World Cup in South Africa.

The 35-year old star is impatient to conceive, especially since her younger sister, Louise, annouced she is pregnant with her fourth.

A source close to the family says, "Louise has just told everyone she is expecting and Vic has immediately become broody. She and David have always wanted a girl. He’d love more kids so it’s great news."

Their youngest child, Cruz, is already four years old while his two older brothers, Brooklyn and Romeo, are ten and seven.

Victoria Beckham was recently approached  by none other than the emir of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He offered her nearly $45 million to design a luxury hotel to be built on Dubai’s Isla Moda. It is one in a group of 300 man-made islands called The World, built to recreate a map of the world.

Victoria Beckham offered nearly $45 million

If you’re wondering what an ex-Spice Girl could fetch on the open market, singer Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, was offered nearly $45 million to design a luxury hotel in Dubai.

The star was approached by none other than the emir of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who asked her to lend her talent to the construction of a hotel. It would be built on Isla Moda, one of 300 islands in The World, a man-made archipelago that recreates a map of the world.

If Beckham accepts the emir’s offer, she would work with Karl Lagerfied on this wacky new project. Dubai was recently reprimanded by its creditors because the emirate’s debt is now about 70% of its gross domestic product (GDP).

A spokesperson for the singer says that Victoria Beckham will not comment on this story since she is too busy getting ready for Fashion Week in New York.

Megan Fox Poses for Emporio Armani

People magazine has unveiled the first shots of the sexy young star as the new muse for Emporio Armani.  Fox replaced Victoria Beckham as the brand’s spokesmodel.
 
The ad campaign features Fox wearing lingerie from the Emporio Armani Underwear collection, and the shots are being published in black and white.
 
The 23-year-old star has also been the face of Armani Jeans, in which she posed barefoot, with wet hair and natural looking makeup.
 
Giorgio Armani explained why he chose Fox, saying, “Megan is young and sexy and has a lot of spirit.”  He added that the brand represents a young attitude, so Fox was the perfect choice.

Victoria Beckham to Join Forces with Marc Jacobs

According to recent rumours, Beckham, on her business trip to Paris last week, met up with her friend Marc Jacobs to discuss a possible collaboration, reports Coco Perez.

According to Elle magazine, the star wants to team with the designer to create a fur label. If this is the case, the two fashion icons risk falling prey to animal rights activists, such as PETA, which Pamela Anderson and singer Pink have joined.

A spokesperson for the former Spice Girl, however, clarified that it wouldn’t actually be a fur collection, and added that the star only wears faux fur.

Victoria Beckham announced that she would be breathing new life into her denim line. The Victoria Beckham Denim collection, which includes cigarette pants, boy-cut jeans and jackets at affordable prices, will be available in the spring.

Beckham didn’t attain the type of success she was counting on when she launched her dVb line in 2008, after the Los Angeles boutique, Kitson, and Saks Fifth Avenue discontinued her range due to disappointing sales.

Coco Perez reports that the former Spice Girl has decided to move forward and come out with a new line called Victoria Beckham Denim.

The star is also lowering the price of her jeans, which still start from around $230 US.

Victoria Beckham Denim will be available in spring, and will offer cigarette pants, boy-cut jeans and jackets.

In October, it was announced that the designer was going to expand her horizons and introduce a collection of shoes and handbags. However, there was no specific date for its arrival.

Victoria Beckham Clings to Her Stilettos

Doctors have advised the Spice Girl-turned-designer to undergo a surgery to alleviate a painful condition she has, which is a deformation of the bones and joints of the foot that affects the big toe and can become extremely painful.

However, Beckham prefers to do exercises and wear corrective orthotics in her shoes rather than go under the knife, which would force her to refrain from wearing high heels for several months, until the inflammation subsides.

A source revealed, "Victoria is in agony with her misshapen feet. She is suffering from shooting pain from the bunions."

The source added, "But she is worried about having the operation because she fears they will compromise her ability to wear heels and ruin her stylish look."

The wife of soccer star David Beckham has decided to expand her fashion arena and introduce a collection of shoes and handbags for her label, although its launch date has not been announced.

The singer/designer has decided tack on another division to her fashion label by launching a new collection of shoes and handbags, reports CocoPerez.
 
The star is done with flaunting other designer’s shoes on her feet. A source stated, "Victoria is fed up of promoting other brands. If she wears Hermes or Christian Louboutin, people go and buy it."
 
That is why she has begun to wear and create her own brand of shoes, along with a range of handbags to complement the footwear.
 
A friend of Beckham’s revealed that her husband, soccer star David Beckham, proposed to build a design studio at their England residence.

Mel B Wants Another Spice Girls Reunion

Mel B told BANG Showbiz that a Spice Girls reunion is taking shape.

The British quintet, consisting of Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham, seems to be moving forward, and the girls are excited to be working together again.

Mel B explained, "We are definitely going to be doing something together again soon. We’re actually working on it right now. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s really, really exciting. I can’t wait to be singing with the girls again!"

Last month, reunion rumours began circulating when it was announced that the Spice Girls may be performing at the 2010 World Cup of Soccer in South Africa.
