A Musical Comedy About the Beckhams

The satire, entitled MacBecks, is expected to come out in January, reports FemaleFirst.

Long Road Productions, who also produced Riverdance, says that the project, written by Gary Cooke and Malachy McKenna, was Shakespeare-inspired.

Director Ronan Smith said, "We’re very excited by the script – it’s a wild comedy romp that borrows from Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, ‘King Lear’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’, as well as Cyrano de Bergerac. It will be a musical based on the world’s best known soccer player."

In the show, David sacrifices his career for Victoria Beckham, whose character is based on the ruthless, ambitious Lady Macbeth.

Victoria Beckham Suing Rock & Republic

According to the British paper The Daily Mail, Beckham is intending on suing Rock & Republic for $100 million.  This Los Angeles company makes the high-end jeans collection created by Beckham.

The partnership between Beckham and Rock & Republic began in 2004, but went sour when the company accused the star of not promoting the collection.  The partnership came to an end in 2006.

Beckham claims that the company owes her money for the collection that made more money than they had anticipated.  This is questionable since certain stores such as Kitson and Fred Segal decided to withdraw the brand dVb.
