Victoria and David Beckham ‘respect’ each other’s busy work schedule

Victoria and David Beckham "respect" each other’s busy work schedule.

The 42-year-old fashion designer has been married to the 41-year-old former England football captain for almost 20 years, and the brunette beauty – who has Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 123, and five-year-old daughter Harper with her spouse – believes the key to their long lasting relationship is "good partnership" and understanding the other’s hectic lifestyle but being able to take charge over their brood.

Speaking about her love life in the May issue of Elle UK magazine, the brunette beauty said: "David and I both respect that each of us are very, very busy; we are both running big businesses."

The style icon has revealed the couple try to make time for one another without their phones around when they can simply talk.

The fashion mogul explained: "But we do put the phones down, and sometimes we just talk."

And when Victoria is tied up preparing for Fashion Week, the tattooed hunk will look after their four children, which the entrepreneur believes is a sign of his "support" to her.

She said: "The children will be in New York and he’s already planned to take them to museums then out for dinner on Saturday night. That’s how you can show your support in a marriage, by saying, ‘You know what? I’ve got this.’ That’s what makes a good partnership."

Meanwhile, the former Spice Girls band member – who was known as Posh Spice in the group – has described her time with Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton has being "so much fun", as it helped her to learn "an enormous amount" about production.

The ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker said: "Being in the Spice Girls was so much fun. I was never the best singer or dancer. I learned an enormous amount during that time, though: the staging, the lighting, the costumes–the package excited me."

David Beckham confused by Victoria’s clothes

David Beckham doesn’t "understand" his wife Victoria’s fashion choices.

The 41-year-old designer – who has Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and five-year-old daughter Harper with her husband – didn’t get upset when her spouse told her that her outfit made her look like an elf from their little girl’s school play as she thought it was a misplaced "compliment".

She said: "I took that as a compliment, but it’s true, there are definitely things I wear that he doesn’t understand."

And her occasionally unusual choices meant David recently praised her great outfit and suggested she dress like the old days more often, much to Victoria’s amusement.

She explained to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I was just wearing a sweater. I said, ‘Do you honestly think I’m going out like this? I haven’t finished getting ready.’ "

The former Spice Girls singer’s children are also critical of her sartorial choices.

She said:" The last time I went out, I wore tracksuit bottoms and a coat and Cruz said, ‘Mummy, you look really nice…’ Baseball caps and beanies, those are the only things really that the boys fight over."

While Victoria admits she has made some "regrettable" fashion choices in the past, she isn’t ashamed of them as she thinks they just make her more relatable.

She said: "I’ve learnt so much about how to get dressed over the years.

"Are there pictures of me in regrettable outfits? Plenty. But I think other women relate to that."

Meanwhile, the brunette beauty admitted her kids don’t think their parents are "cool" and Brooklyn even insists David drops him off at the end of the street so he doesn’t get embarrassed in front of his friends.

She said: "I said, ‘If David Beckham isn’t cool enough then what hope for the other dads?’ "

David Beckham’s sons raid his closet

David Beckham’s sons steal his clothes.

The 41-year-old retired soccer star has revealed his three sons – Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12 – regularly raid his closet for outfits they can wear themselves.

Speaking about Daniel Kearns, the creative director of Kent & Curwen, he said: "We share a common vision of staying true to the brand’s British heritage while creating iconic pieces that could belong in a modern man’s everyday wardrobe."

Before adding: "My sons are also very into Kent & Curwen and constantly raid my closet. It’s also about creating collections with multigenerational appeal."

And David – who also has five-year-old daughter Harper with his wife Victoria Beckham – loves how fashion is unique to individual countries and even people.

He told the April issue of #legend magazine: "That’s what’s great about fashion. You go to the United States and there’s a certain style with the way that men and women dress. It’s the same in Europe. You go to Milan, you go to Paris, you go to London: each city is so different and so diverse.

"It’s what makes fashion so special. But, again, you go to Asia, you go to China or places like Tokyo, you just have to walk around the streets and you see different fashions. You get so much inspiration from just walking around. That is all over the world."

Meanwhile, David and Victoria previously revealed how "proud" they are of their son Brooklyn as he is due to begin studying photography at the Parsons School of Design in New York City in September.

Victoria said: "Me and Brooklyn are very, very close, we’re a very close family, and I’m just so proud of him and everything he’s achieving, he wants to be a photographer, he’s so passionate about what he does, he’s got a great eye, he’s very focused and passionate, and I’m just really proud."

Victoria Beckham dances for Carpool Karaoke

Victoria Beckham showed off her Spice Girls dance moves in a hilarious new take on ‘Carpool Karaoke’.

The 41-year-old fashion designer had teased her appearance in James Corden’s popular ‘Late, Late Show’ segment earlier this week, but all wasn’t as it seemed when the slot aired on Thursday (30.03.17).

Instead, James announced: "Victoria and I have the oddest thing in common. We are both huge fans of the ’80s movie Mannequin."

The host then claimed he and Victoria were to star in a remake of the 1987 movie, which starred Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall, and offered to premiere the new "trailer" for his audience.

While the outside world could only see James dancing with mannequin, Victoria portrayed the version which came to life but could only be seen by the 38-year-old comic.

As the pair danced, a voiceover said: "The world couldn’t understand their love.

"Like, really couldn’t understand their love… No seriously, they didn’t get it.

"But their love wasn’t meant for this world."

After Victoria told James she was "so lonely" and wanted to "be with others like me", her pal vowed to sacrifice his love and "get her home".

He then rushed out to his car, clutching the mannequin under his arm, before the pair were seen singing and dancing along to ‘Spice Up Your Life’.

But when a passing motorist looked into the vehicle, they could only see James dancing alone while his passenger rested motionless.

The short clip ended with the presenter placing Victoria alongside other mannequins in the window of Target – where she is launching an affordable fashion line – before the group all danced together.

Earlier this week, Victoria gave fans a behind-the-scenes look into her appearance on the show via an Instagram video clip of herself inside James’ car.

Victoria Beckham stars in Carpool Karaoke

Victoria Beckham has filmed a ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment for ‘The Late Late Show’.

The 42-year-old fashion designer – who is best known as one of the Spice Girls – has returned to her musical roots, becoming the latest celebrity to share a car journey with popular TV host James Corden.

Victoria gave fans a behind-the-scenes look into her appearance on the show via a video clip that has been widely circulated of herself inside James’ car.

The mother-of-four has, therefore, followed in the footsteps of the likes of Adele, Madonna and Michelle Obama, all of whom have previously enjoyed memorable singalongs with James.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old TV host recently admitted he would love to bring the ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment to the UK, revealing he has already held discussions with his bosses.

James admitted to being surprised by the success of the particular segment, in which he shares a car journey with some of the world’s most famous musicians – but said he is trying to bring the feature to his native UK.

He said: "It’s taken us all by surprise, the success, especially of that particular segment.

"But we do have some stuff planned this year – which might involve being in the UK."

James said there are no concrete plans in place at the moment, but confessed he would love to see it happen.

He explained: "We’re talking about it now, really. We don’t know if we’ll be able to get it together but it’s certainly something I’d love to do, for sure."

Prior to that, James revealed his ambition to make ‘The Late, Late Show’ "sillier".

The 38-year-old comic said he is keen to try new things with his popular nightly talk show.

He shared: "I’m always keen to try new things visually, with openings and sketches. I’d like to film the show somewhere else for a week.

"This is what I was writing just this morning. Visually better. More ambitious. And also sillier. Those three things."

Brooklyn Beckham ‘doesn’t expect special treatment’ at university

Brooklyn Beckham doesn’t expect any "special treatment" when he attends Parsons School of Design in New York City later this year.

The 18-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham is moving 3,000 miles away from his family to study photography at the academic institution in Greenwich Village – but he doesn’t expect to receive any special favors because of his famous parents.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Brooklyn will head to Parsons in September where he will become an undergraduate. But he won’t be expecting any special treatment just because he’s the son of the Beckhams.

"He follows in the footsteps of huge fashion names including Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Nicky Hilton, so he is under a lot of pressure to prove himself. It’s a big move."

Meanwhile, an insider recently claimed that Brooklyn isn’t especially nervous about moving away from home, because he already enjoys a certain degree of independence from his parents.

The source explained: "Brooklyn is already pretty independent so he has few qualms about living away from his family.

"He’s obviously going to miss them all but he’s ready for his next adventure.

"If he wants to achieve his dream job full time, having the extra learning behind him will be such an asset."

And before heading to New York later this year, Brooklyn will reportedly spend the summer working for his mother.

The 42-year-old fashion designer is keen for Brooklyn to join the team at her eponymous label and has created a role especially for him.

A source shared: "When he finishes this summer at his college in North London, he’s going to work for Victoria.

"She thinks he has a fantastic eye for fashion and is very talented – he’ll have a creative/photography type role. Victoria is in the process of securing a new office in West London – she wants to open more shops, with New York being the next location, and she wants Brooklyn to be involved."

David Beckham is ‘so so proud’ of daughter Harper

David Beckham is "so so proud" of his daughter Harper.

The 41-year-old former England football captain has gushed about his youngest child – who he has with his wife Victoria Beckham – on social media after she successfully rode on her bicycle without any assistance for the "first time" over the weekend.

The sporting hunk shared a video of his five-year-old child sporting a pink helmet whizzing along the pathway, whilst he ran beside her.

Speaking in the clip, which was posted on his Instagram account, the heartthrob – who also has sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12 – said: "First time riding on your own Harper."

And he captioned the sweet post: "So so proud (sic)."

However, Harper isn’t the only member of the Beckham family he has recently praised publicly on his photo-sharing site, as he has credited his spouse of 17 years with "drive, passion" and "intelligence" in a heartfelt post.

Alongside an image of Victoria with his brood, which was edited in a black and white filter, he wrote: "Happy mama’s day to another amazing mummy … Someone that has raised these beautiful little ones to be the most precious , special and loved children … A woman that has drive , passion , intelligence and love for her children what gets any better than that ?? Thank you for giving me the most beautiful gift @victoriabeckham @romeobeckham ( to all the mums have an amazing day ) (sic)."

And he has also paid tribute to his mother, Sandra, with a collage of a variety of photographs of him with his parent.

He wrote: "You deserve a day of love and looking after every single day but today is your day so don’t resist the love that will be coming your way because normally you make it about everyone else except you. Thank you for being that person that has always been here for me no matter what… Happy Mother’s Day mum. (sic)."

Victoria Beckham looks for the positive

Victoria Beckham sees the positive side of everything.

The 42-year-old designer – who has sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and 12-year-old Cruz, and five-year-old daughter Harper with husband David Beckham – admits it takes a lot to offend her but she was thankful she wasn’t met with particularly harsh criticism when she launched her first fashion collection in 2008.

The former Spice Girls star said of the reviews: "I’ve got a pretty thick skin. It could have been worse. They could have said, ‘We thought it was going to be rubbish, and it is.’

"Instead, they thought it was really good, and I look at that as a positive. I look at everything as a positive, to be honest with you."

And Victoria wasn’t convinced she’d truly made it as a fashion designer until a chance encounter with former Gucci creative director Tom Ford on a plane, when he recognised her for her creative work, rather than her music career.

She told the new issue of America’s InStyle magazine: "I’m really proud of what I achieved with the Spice Girls, but I’m also proud of everything I have done with my brand.

"So that meant a lot to me, you know? That’s Tom Ford saying, ‘We look at you as a credible designer,’ which was very cool."

Despite her family’s high profile, Victoria insists she and her spouse go to surprising lengths to avoid attracting attention, but she accepts it can’t always be avoided.

She said: "I think people would really be surprised at how we try to avoid too much attention. But there are certain places where you cannot avoid being photographed. It is what it is. I’ve had this since I was 18 years old."

Melanie C says Victoria Beckham doesn’t merit her Posh Spice name

Melanie C doesn’t think Victoria Beckham suited her Posh Spice nickname.

The Spice Girls – which also included Melanie B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell – were all given nicknames on the back of a Top Of The Pops magazine story in 1996, but Mel believes Victoria’s showbiz moniker was the least appropriate.

She said: "That is probably the one which rings the least true."

On the other hand, she claimed that Mel B’s Scary Spice nickname was the most appropriate.

Mel – who was known as Sporty Spice during her time with the girl group – explained: "Scary makes sense. She is petrifying. I remember at times being on tour, and I am sure everyone has people in their lives when they hear their footsteps coming down the corridor you cower – that is how scary she can be. I love her."

She admitted, too, that Emma’s Baby Spice nickname was similarly accurate on account of her being the youngest member of the record-breaking band.

Mel told BBC Satellite radio: "She is the youngest, and she will always be the youngest and the baby. It is quite nice."

By contrast, she claimed that Geri’s name Ginger Spice has become increasingly less relevant over time.

Mel said: "She is not the bright ginger she was back in the day, there is definitely some red tones."

And in regards to her own nickname Sporty Spice, Mel admitted it has always been something she has taken as a compliment.

The 43-year-old star – whose real name is Melanie Chisholm – shared: "Obviously one of the great things is that we had our individuality and it appealed to so many different kinds of girls. But my nickname came more from the way I dressed.

"It was just a silly thing in the front of a magazine, and I don’t suppose that the person who thought it up knew it would stick. In America they didn’t know our names."
