Halo Infinite glitch unlocks campaign co-op, players urged not to attempt

Halo Infinite’s campaign has been available for a few weeks at this point and has been met with an overall positive reception. However, one core feature of the campaign has been delayed until 2022, and that is co-op. 343 Industries said it wasn’t going to be available at launch. However, a new glitch shows two players exploring Zeta Halo together.

On Reddit, a user posted a 30-second video of two players playing through the campaign together. The poster stated the video originated from a Facebook group. It was also said the players “did it by accident and are currently looking into how to replicate it.”

While the original team of Spartans has been unable to guide the community on how to glitch their game, others have taken it upon themselves to see if they can reproduce it. One Reddit user responding to the original post is said to have been successful. That said, in a follow-up, the user states the glitch caused all progress to become corrupted. “I broke all my saves trying to reproduce this glitch,” the user claimed.

The method in question was then used by other members of the Halo community with an equal mix of corruption or the glitch not working. Scouring through comments and social media posts, I’ve yet to stumble on anyone who’s gained an overall positive experience out of the glitch.

Personally, even a successful reproduction of the glitch doesn’t seem to warrant the corruption of the progress made on a save. Personally, after doing a 100% run, grabbing collectibles and skulls, the last thing I’d want is to lose the progress.

As others have noted on the Reddit thread, it may be worth letting others be the guinea pigs. 343 Industries have claimed that co-op will be available later in 2022 along with the Forge multiplayer mode.

Halo Infinite is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Canadians can pre-order Microsoft’s Xbox mini-fridge starting December 15

Canadian Xbox fans will be able to pre-order their very own Xbox Series X ‘Mini Fridge’ via the Microsoft Store starting December 15th.

Microsoft confirmed to MobileSyrup that pre-orders would open Wednesday, December 15th at 9am ET/6am PT. The Xbox mini-fridges will start shipping by January 31st, 2022. Further, the mini-fridge will cost $129.99 CAD.

Microsoft first confirmed that it will sell the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge on October 15th. Initially, the company said that it would sell the mini-fridge via Target.com in Canada, however, the company later revealed that Target can’t offer shipping to Canada. Instead, Xbox general manager Aaron Greenberg tweeted that the mini-fridge would be available directly from the Xbox Gear Shop in December.

For those who haven’t followed the mini-fridge sage, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X Mini Fridge is a 1:1 scale replica of its newest Xbox console. It’s also a fridge. The Xbox mini-fridge began as a joke and, while silly, it’s neat to see Microsoft play along and actually make an Xbox-like fridge.

Those interested can pre-order the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge on the Xbox Gear Shop.

Xbox app will soon support sharing of gameplay clips through public links

If you’ve used the Xbox app to share gameplay footage, you’ll be aware that the process isn’t very intuitive.

For example, in the iOS app, I need to download the clip to my iPhone 13 Pro first and then share it through social media. Thankfully, it looks like that will change.

According to a recent tweet from Microsoft’s Larry Hryb (Major Nelson), users will soon be able to create publically sharable links directly in the Xbox mobile app. These links will then be located in a new ‘trending content’ section that features other public links shared by players on your friends list. You can also take these public links and share them on a social media platform like Twitter or Facebook.

The feed itself will be very TikTok-like, allowing users to scroll through content and like, comment and share videos.

These new features are currently being tested with a small number of users but will roll out to everyone soon, according to Hryb.

As someone who often shares Halo Infinite clips on Twitter, I’m hoping that the ability to share public links makes that process a little more seamless and intuitive.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be in stock at GameStop tomorrow at 10am

In what will likely go down as one of the last significant drops for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X before the holiday season officially begins, EB Games GameStop has confirmed that it will restock both consoles online at 10am ET/7am PT on November 29th.

As always, if you’re trying to get your hands on Sony’s or Microsoft’s respective current-generation system, you’ll need to move fast. In the past, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have sold out in a matter of minutes.

Further, this is one of the first times that GameStop plans to restock the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 online at the same time, which seems like a questionable decision given the retailer’s website has been unable to handle console restocks in the past.

It’s important to note that the PlayStation 5 bundle includes a gamepad charger and an extra DualSense controller. There’s also another bundle that features two DualSense gamepads and a copy of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. On the Xbox Series X side, the bundle includes an extra controller and Forza Horizon 5.

It’s unclear how much these bundles will cost, but the standard disc version of the PlayStation 5 costs $629 and the Xbox Series X starts at $599. This story will be updated with direct links to purchase these bundles when they’re available.

Halo Infinite campaign co-op and Forge Mode release delayed even further

If you’re like me and have played through nearly every Halo campaign co-operatively with friends, you’re about to be disappointed.

Halo Infinite‘s co-op campaign mode won’t release until May 2022 at the earliest, and Forge’s release has been pushed even further back.

In an interview with Eurogamer, 343 Industries’ head of creative Joseph Staten says that the extension of Season 1 of multiplayer to six months instead of three has resulted in the delay of both campaign co-op and Forge.

Co-op and Forge were previously scheduled to release during Season 2 and Season 3, respectively. In the interview, Staten says that 343 Industries can’t commit to “any hard dates right now” regarding the features’ release.

Despite this latest delay, the response to Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer has been resoundingly positive so far. 343 Industries even moved quickly to respond to complaints surrounding slow progression with the game’s battle pass system. The beta version of Infinite‘s multiplayer is currently available ahead of the full game’s release on December 8th.

Halo Infinite is set to be available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. The game is also part of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription platform.

343 Industries is likely already planning to fix Halo Infinite’s battle pass

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode has been great so far with one notable exception — it takes forever to level up the game’s battle pass.

For example, I’ve played roughly 6-7 hours of Infinite over the last two days and I’m only at level 4 (and yes, I do the challenges). Thankfully, 343 Industries has plans to fix this, according to the game’s community director, Brian Jarrard.

On Twitter, Jarrard says that the development team is monitoring battle pass progression and will shift how it works in the future.

It’s also important to note that Halo Infinite‘s early multiplayer release and Season 1 of its $13 battle pass are still in beta. It’s possible that 343 Industries could even solve the battle pass progression issues before the game’s full release on December 8th.

With all of this in mind, we’ll likely see a significant patch for Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer officially drop in a few weeks.

Halo Infinite‘s free-to-play multiplayer mode is available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The full version of the game, which also includes its anticipated single-player campaign, releases on December 8th.
