Shortly after they shared the screen for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Kitsch and Collins will meet up again to film John Carter of Mars.
Walt Disney Studios confirmed the news after Collins sold her hair on her Twitter page. Kitsch will play John carter, a Civil War veteran who mysteriously gets transported to Mars and inherits the Martian throne.
Andrew Stanton will direct the film, which is his first attempt at directing a film with real live actors, after taking home Oscars for the animated films, Finding Nemo and Wall-E.
The script, which is based on a series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs, was written by Stanton and Mark Andrews.
The film is expected to open in 2012.
