Taylor Lautner and Dwayne Johnson as David and Goliath?

The Rock and teen werewolf star in talks for biblical epic Goliath.

American actors Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 39, and Taylor Lautner, 19, are currently in negotiations to star in the biblical epic Goliath, reports CinemaBlend. The two handsome male leads will make this a must-see film for most women.

Directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still), this will be a new take on the popular biblical fable of the shepherd boy who takes on a giant.

In the role of Goliath, Dwayne Johnson stands at 6’ 5” of pure muscle, while Taylor Lautner, at 5’ 10,” would have to make the transformation from hunky he-wolf to weakling shepherd boy.

The film will be produced by Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey who know Lautner through their producing gig on the Twilight franchise.

The Rock’s film career continues to heat up – this spring he starred in the action flick Fast Five, and recently completed filming the 3D action-adventure Journey 2: The Mysterious Island costarring Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens and due out next February 10. He is currently filming Jon Chu’s GI Joe: Retaliation which will open June 29, 2012, and has plans to produce and star in a Charley Pride biopic.

As for Taylor Lautner, he will star in Abduction on September 23 alongside Lilly Collins and Alfred Molina. He reprises his role as Jacob in Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 on November 18 and Part 2 next November 16, 2012.
