Singer and actress Miley Cyrus will be the master of ceremonies at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. The awards show recognises young talent in film, television, music, comedy, sports and fashion, reports X17.
FOX has also released the names of the nominees for each category. The television series Gossip Girl earned an impressive 14 nominations, while The Hills also received several nods.
The film Iron Man was nominated in four categories, and Sex and the City: The Movie will only compete in one.
The evening’s hostess, Miley Cyrus, was nominated in four categories, including Choice TV Actress: Comedy, Choice TV Comedy, Choice Music: Single and Choice Music: Female Artist. Cyrus will compete with Britney Spears, Fergie, Mariah Carey and Rihanna in the last category.
The 10th Annual Teen Choice Awards will take place at the Gibson Ampitheatre in Universal City, California. The show will be aired on FOX on August 4 at 8:00. Fans between the ages of 13 and 19 can vote for their favourites at TeenChoiceAwards.com.
