According to Easy Living magazine, Hatcher considers her role as a mother to be the more important than her role on the television series Desperate Housewives. The actress wants to spend as much time as possible with her daughter, Emerson Rose, 9.
Hatcher explained, "I have enough difficulty balancing doing the show for ten and a half months with being a mom the way I want to be."
In the past, the 42 year-old star stayed at home with Emerson Rose for five years, so the new schedule has created many changes. Hatcher added, "This is a serial problem for mothers. We’re trying to be everything all the time… And it’s too much."
