The Beatles Make Peace With EMI

The legendary group The Beatles and the record label EMI have come to an agreement regarding royalties.

Since 2005, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison have been battling EMI in the legal system over royalties from disc sales.  A spokesperson for EMI confirmed that the two sides have reached an agreement, saying, "I can confirm that we have reached a mutually acceptable settlement and that we are not going to say anything more than that."

In the original court documents filed, The Beatles claimed that EMI had owed the band members nearly $60 million US.
