The Big 4 heavy metal legends to play NYC

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax are set to play Yankee Stadium in September.

Four legendary heavy metal bands – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – are continuing their Big 4 tour with a concert at New York City’s Yankee Stadium on September 14, reports Brooklyn Vegan.

The metal extravaganza began as a one-night-only U.S. show in Indio, California, but due to its success and the demand, the four ’80s bands are reuniting again to bring the seven-hour concert to America’s East Coast. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 6.

"Obviously, this thing should play more places in America," Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone after the success of the California show.

Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer are all celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, with Megadeth the "baby" at a spry 28 years old.

"The camaraderie is real. There’s a segment of the metal community that would rather still have us feuding… Obviously, everybody was very competitive, but there’s nothing to be competitive about now," added Ulrich.
