The Canadiens called the Bruins about Pavel Zacha

With training camp just around the corner, everyone’s wondering whether Kent Hughes will make a move. The Canadiens’ GM is looking for a second center, as everyone knows. And now, without Carey Price on the club’s books, the GM has the means to fulfill his ambitions. Whether now or in the coming months, the Habs are keeping an eye on him. And on this subject, it’s worth mentioning that according to Jimmy Murphy, who covers the NHL for RG media, the Canadiens have called the Bruins regarding Pavel Zacha. Other teams, including the Calgary Flames, have also made a call to the Boston Bruins.
The Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames, among other teams, have shown interest this offseason in Bruins forward Pavel Zacha, but the Bruins aren’t interested in selling… yet.

[content-ads]What’s interesting is that Zacha is 28 years old and is under contract for two years at $4.75M per year on payroll. The center scored 47 points last year, but flirted with 60 in his first two years in Boston. He’s also 6’3 and shoots from the left. On paper, he’s an excellent target. The problem is, we don’t know if he’s available. The Bruins seem to be heading for the wall, but do they want to trade their center in 2025?And if they do, do they want to trade him to the Canadiens?
The Habs and Bruins concluded a minor trade for a 2025 draft pick. It was the first trade between the two rivals since… 2001! Weinrich for Traverse

Obviously, nothing is imminent and we don’t know if anything will happen. But clearly, the Canadiens are keeping a close eye on the man who’ll be the talk of the town all year long –unless, of course, he’s traded in the meantime. spacer title=’Overtime’]- It’s on.
It’s on (ice) for the Canadiens’ rookie camp! The three guest goaltenders (Fowler, Radkov and Vecvamags) did some extra pre-practice on the second rink. @DLCoulisses pic.twitter.com/4MCiT3BrsP

Pat Brisson’s comments on the potential of a Sid trade have changed things. If Sid and his camp aren’t happy with the current rebuild – Brisson sure suggested that – maybe a trade does make sense for everyone. The only villain here is time. My column: https://t.co/fIs1pIdNSA –
