“The Canadiens would move the world to get Sidney Crosby”

We’re going to talk about Sidney Crosby. Noone really knows if he’ll end his career with the Penguins, but if he does, Montreal is more than ever a potential destination. If the Penguins ever agree to trade Crosby to the Canadiens, it will obviously be because Crosby has requested it. Everyone is aware of this reality, which means that the Penguins won’t be able to get 100% of Crosby’s market value, if there is a deal.
That said, even if a club like the Canadiens, Kings or Avalanche wants the veteran’s services for less than his true value, the Penguins won’t let their captain go for a low return. It would be Kyle Dubas’ best chance to speed up his team’s rebuilding process. Last night, Pierre McGuire (on Tony Marinaro’s Sick Podcast) talked a bit about the price tag. And what he mentioned was that he believes it would cost more than David Reinbacher, Michael Hage and a first-round pick. That’s still Sidney Crosby.https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2431&v=0ilTDjvMnBA&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.danslescoulisses.com%2F&embeds_referring_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.danslescoulisses.com&source_ve_path=MjM4NTE [content-ads]Paying a first-round pick and Michael Hage, as good as he is, is normal. We all expect that such things would be included in a potential deal, but where’s the line? Obviously, we know that guys like Nick Suzuki, Lane Hutson and Ivan Demidov won’t be included in a deal like that with the Penguins. There’s no way the Habs would say yes, we all agree, but can Kyle Dubas look his bosses and the fans of his club in the eye and tell them that Crosby was traded without a BIG element in return? Especially knowing that Pierre LeBrun AND Frank Seravalli said the Habs would do anything for #87…
The Canadiens would move heaven and earth to get Sidney Crosby if the Penguins made him available.

Frank Seravalli: There is zero doubt…the Montreal Canadiens would do anything to get their hands on Sidney Crosby; but…the Penguins are in a spot where they’re not gonna approach their captain, it’s gonna be up to Crosby – Bleacher Report (9/9)

Kent Hughes is a patient guy who prioritizes the long-term rebuilding of the club and often gets things done. He wouldn’t talk about David Reinbacher in the Noah Dobson deal, but would he do it for a 38-year-old legend? I have a feeling the answer is no, but the question arises.[spacer title=’Overtime’]- Wow.
