The Cranberries Consider a New Album

The Cranberries are feeling inspired once again.

The Cranberries, who shot to fame in the 1990s with their hit Zombie, disappeared from the music scene in 2003, when lead singer Dolores O’Riordan took a break.  Now, the band is back together for a tour of the United States.

The reunion has many people wondering if a new album may be in the works. "It would be nice to come up with a new record. I don’t see why not," O’Riordan tells Billboard.com. "The ideas are always there, so hopefully something will come out of it."

However, O’Riordan added, "There’s no point in bringing out a crappy record. You want it to be really good, so hopefully the creative juices are flowing and the energies are right. We’re all pumped and excited and we’ve got that hunger that we had when we first started out."

The Cranberries will begin a 19-show tour in Baltimore on November 12.  The Irish band then plans to stop in Europe, South America, as well as other new territories in 2010.
