The Creator of Spiderman Wins His Case

Stan Lee, creator of the superhero Spiderman, has won against the company Marvel, and will get millions of dolars.

A judge has ordered that Marvel give 10% of their income from movies, DVDs, Spiderman products etc. to Stan Lee.

The profits gained through the movies will be approximately 1.6 billion dollars.

Lee, 82, created Spiderman in 1962.  He has had this lawsuit against Marvel unresolved since 2002.  He was working for Marvel for 60 years.

Lee also collaborated in the creation of the Superheroes Hulk, Daredevil, X-Men and Fantastic Four.  All of these characters have been or will be featured in films.

Lee expressed, "I am gratified by the judge’s decision although, since I am deeply fond of Marvel and the people there, I sincerely regret that the situation had to come to this."

Marvel announced that they would appeal the decision.
