The Cure Announces New Release Date

The Cure announced that their new album will be launched on September 13.

Billboard.com reported that after several postponements, The Cure announced that their thirteenth still-untitled album will be launched on September 13.

Until that time, the band is planning on releasing one single each month (four singles in total).  The first will be released on May 13.

The first single to be launched is "The Only One" backed by the non-album B-side "NY Trip," and the second will be "Freakshow"/"All Kinds of Stuff" available on June 13.  The last two tracks have not been revealed.

This new album will be launched via Suretone/Geffen.  It was supposed to be launched at the beginning of 2007, but was then postponed to fall 2007, and postponed again until spring 2008.  The last album by The Cure was launched in 2004.
