The Cure offers unreleased demos online

Demos that appear on The Cure’s reissued Disintegration album are also streamed on the band’s website.

The band The Cure is one of the hallmarks of the 1980s alternative music scene and is also one of the most respected figures in goth rock. It announced its intention to reissue Disintegration, one of the most influential albums in a career spanning more than 30 years.

First released on May 1, 1989, Disintegration offered fans rich and dense longer songs that marked a change in the band’s musical direction.

The re-release will drop May 24 and contain an impressive 48 songs; the original only had 12. Among the 36 additional songs, 20 are demos and extra studio takes while 12 are songs performed in concert.

Fans can listen to the songs now on the band’s website. The Cure is releasing the demo and concert tracks on its site to give fans a taste of what to expect on the re-released version.
