The Cure to launch double live album
On December 5, the Cure will release a double live album The Cure: Bestival Live 2011 featuring 32 tracks recorded at the Bestival annual music festival, which is held every autumn on the Isle of Wight.
The Cure was one of the headliners at the four-day music festival this year, along with Pendulum, and Bjork. Their performance also highlighted the return of former keyboardist Roger O’Donnell, all of which has been captured on the new double album, which will be released as 2 CDs or 1 digital download.
“We had such a great time in the Isle of Wight at Bestival that we wanted to release this show as a way of thanking fans and islanders alike,” said lead singer and guitarist Robert Smith on the band’s website. “Bestival IS the best!”
All profits from the sale of the album will go to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, a charitable organization in operation for 27 years.
