According to Reuters, the group’s leader, Robert Smith, revealed that the new disc will be released in May 2007. At the moment, the artist is working on some of the lyrics. Smith said, "I’ve given myself a deadline to finish the words before Christmas. If I don’t I should be shot."
Smith also talked about the upcoming album’s style, saying, "More in the style of the ‘Kiss Me’ album, with different things happening instead of being a mood piece."
Former guitarist Porl Thompson has returned to The Cure, although the band hasn’t had a keyboardist since the departure of Roger O’Donnell.
