The Darkness Will Continue to Sing

English rock group The Darkness has announced that it is is going to go on without their lead singer, Justin Hawkins.

The three remaining members of the group of Lowestoft announced that they have started working on their new album.  The bass player, Richie Edwards, will be lead singer.

The new songs will be released under another name to avoid confusion.

The Darkness had instant success in 2003 with their album, Permission to Land, especially with their single I Believe in a Thing Called Love.

In 2004, the four man band won three Brit Awards.

From that moment on, things started to unravel.  Frankie Poullain, left the group in May 2005.  Last August, Justin Hawkins was admitted to a private clinic for a cocaine addiction.  Two months later he announced that he was leaving the group.
