The Fiat 500 to Arrive in 1 Year

Chrysler presented its 5-year plan, including the arrival of a fleet of Fiat 500s.

The Fiat 500 minicar, which has become the latest star in the trendy sections of big European cities, is bound to get some more attention.

The first rendition to cross the Atlantic will be a traditional compact, which is expected to go on sale at certain Chrysler dealerships in areas during the last quarter of 2010.

It will then be in seen in Ford’s showrooms bearing the Fiat badge, and will likely be presented at other Fiat dealerships.

The second model will make its debut in 2011, and will have a canvas roof that retracts completely.  The car will be put to the test in the warmer spots of North America, from Florida to California.

Finally, 2012 will mark the year when the scorpion invades American soil, with the arrival of the Abarth 500.

The specifications are still unknown for the 500 models destined for America in comparison to the European makes, but the two brands have confirmed that the 500s will be constructed at the Chrysler plant in Mexico.
