The Fourth Mummy Film

Plans for the fourth installment of The Mummy franchise are in the making.

Director Rob Cohen revealed that he’s planning on directing the fourth sequel to The Mummy, according to a report by Ananova.

The director hopes to take the adventures further abroad, now that the third film, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which was set in China, has had such great success, especially in the United Kingdom.

The starring actors, Brendan Fraser and Maria Bello, suggested that the fourth Mummy film should be shot in South America.

Cohen says that now that the story has been taken to China in the third film, he’s proven that The Mummy can travel elsewhere, since mummy stories exist in different countries.

He explained, "Now we know that if we want to go to Mexico or we want to go to Peru, we can because there’s a cultural truth there of the mummies and these beautiful cultures… So I think that somehow that might make the basis of a good story."
