Katherine Heigl recently confirmed she was leaving the television series Grey’s Anatomy after six years. She just signed on to star in an epic love story, The Age of Adaline.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film tells the story of a young woman born in the 20th century who becomes immortal after an accident. She spends years alone but finally meets a man she falls in love with. She has to choose between her immortality and love.
Mills Goodloe and Sal Paskowitz wrote the script. For now, no director or lead male actor has been signed.
Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel are co-financing and co-producing the project. Heigl is also an executive producer. Shooting begins in October.
Katherine Heigl stars with Ashton Kutcher in Killers coming to theatres on June 4 and also in Life as We Know It with Josh Duhamel opening on October 8.
